Ya'll keep Shevis Irons in your prayers

You hang in their, partner. I have seen some wonderful things in my career. Things greater than science. Something, besides us, has your back.
Doc, when I get my voice back, I want to buy you a. Beer, Ice Tea, whatever your preference.

I know we live fairly close together so thinking ahead, somewhere at La Centerra or a little closer in maybe.

Yes, I have witnessed some amazing things in this Journey and some of the events are hard to explain as mere coincidence.

You are on, my friend, and La Centerra is perfect .  My bride has shopped so much at that shopping center I feel like I have a vested interest in it.

My preference is diet dr. Pepper, but I've been known to throw a beer or two back.

Hope you enjoyed the SB SI. . . .shitty outcome for me thanks to a BIZARRE playcall. . . .but kid made a GREAT play on the ball. . . .

Latest update:

SI has been released from MD Anderson and now is considered outpaitent.   Clinical trials can now begin.   The fight continues.  He will know more specifics in a week or so after more test but wanted me to share how much he appreciates all the prayers and well wishes. . .

Continue to channel those positive waves. . . .

Shevis going home, another great day for Horn's fans! We are honored to be included in your battle, and will keep the good thoughts and positivity flowing your way my friend!

I have received word that Shevis is doing well at home, and even placed a phone call to one of our HS buddies this week. The report was that he sounded like his old self.

Just wanted to pass this along.  He's been in all of our thoughts and prayers.

Just an FYI, many of you remember Esoteric from OB. . . he was from Mesquite (suburb of Big D) and used to offer up some insights from that talent rich part of town.

Well we lost Mike, RIP. . . . .and was mid 30's. . . . . one of his last posts was from ICU. . . . .we have several others fighting cancer including a fireman "wearetexas".

Reminds me that life is short.   I've read SI (Pokey) for years, think we played poker back when you could do that and certainly battled at fantasy football.

Pulling for you SI. . . .keep the faith and keep fighting the good fight.

Thought I'd give a brief update.

Out of the hospital a few weeks ago immediately did a sleep study and got a BiPap machine to allow me to sleep at home. Anyone here use one besides myself? How about the CPap? I can tell you it changed my life. Amazing technology. I sleep like a baby. Now granted, a lot of people will really struggle with getting used to these machines, especially claustrophobic people. However, when you struggle to sleep due to, well, whatever reason, that first full night of sleep at home, unaided by drugs etc, it is all worth it.

Now I'm in the Clinical Trial at MD Anderson. Which means I take 4 pills in the Morning and 4 pills at night. That's it. No more Radiation and my kind of Cancer does not respond well to Chemo, if at all, so that's not on the table. Now I just wait to see if my Cancer's Mutation is affected by this newly discovered drug therapy.

I really appreciate all the support and prayers y'all have given up for me.

I've even received a ton of well wishes from UT, the President's office, the AD as well as the football coaching staff. Pretty Cool.

Some friends have set up a web page for me where I'll give updates when warrented. if you have a sec, please visit. It'll make my Guardian Angel and Wife, Kim, very happy.
