Ya'll keep Shevis Irons in your prayers

Merry Christmas!

Thanks for all the well wishes. I hope everyone here has their best Christmas ever!

All I want for Christmas this year is sipping a cold one with you and discussing the horns after the Orange White game.

Best wishes to keep fighting the good fight from the West Coast (we're out with family).   Let me know, I can still get you a ticket to Oregon FSU. . .

That would be great and certainly something to shot for. GOOD golly, I miss a cold beer. Preferably Dark, aged in Bourbon Barrels and poured in a Snifter.

what I'm looking forward to as well is not just talking Texas Football but your chosen profession which happens to be my former profession. I love talking philosophically about Financial Planning/Money Management/Asset Allocation. I have always been fascinated by Advisors belief systems and how they integrate into their systems and practices.

It may take more than just a Snifter for that convo, now that I think about it.

good to see you posting, shev.  keep it up.  whatever cheese says, take the opposite side, just for the pure hell and fun of it.

Good point.  ..Slim's a really bright guy and smooth with the ladies. . . oh yeah, foreign policy wiz too.

:P

On the plus side, family all lit a candle for you in mass. . .

On the negative side, kinda like Jimmy buffet. . .not sure how far candles go from fallen alter boys.  .

Hook'em Cowboys. . .

I had the great fortune to spend a little time with Shevis this afternoon at his beautiful house.  He is doing well and looked great, although his voice is a whisper these days (due to the radiation taking its toll).  It was great to catch up with him and meet his lovely wife and friendly dogs.

Wish I could have stayed longer my friend, but as you know I had to get back to my neck of the woods to take my kiddo to a friend's birthday party.

I left his house with 3 rare craft beers in my hand and a football he bought for my kiddos - and his collection of craft beers is incredibly enormous.

See you soon buddy - I had a blast.

Anyone have a bucket of water that could throw on me?

I'm sure I glow in the dark. I would look but my eyes are to watery

Hook'em Shevis! If you do glow in the dark, I am sure it will be Burnt Orange!!

Stay strong!!

Thought I'd give a quick update. I finished all 30 Radiation Treatments. One week ago. Now I'm enduring the after effects. And they're much worse than I had anticipated. My throat is just about gone. I can only speak in very soft whisper and you have to be next to me to hear that. Swallowing is about the most painful thing I've ever experienced. I can only sleep about two hours a a time.

Hopefully it will begin to get better soon, very soon.

I scheduled to start The Heavy Chemo next week. After this it should be a breeze.

Again I appreciate all the thoughts and prayers. More than ya'll can ever know.

I have some extra LIVESTRONG bracelets if anyone wants to wear one for Shevis. They are XL.

Thanks for the update Dennis. Keep on fighting. We are all with ya.
