I think Ole Mack is going to try to pull a Jefferson Davis and try to escape after the banquet, dressed in women's clothes, hiding in the back seat of a car to avoid having to talk with Powers and Patterson.

This is almost beginning to verge on the comic. Remember that his salary is roughly $20,000 every business day. mack is going to hide so he doesn't get fired and those who are supposedly going to fire him don't have the common sense or ability to do it.
