Last year we were talented, young, under prepared, and in the constant turmoil of a coaching staffs uncertain future. This year we are more talented in every position but RB, a little older, infinitely better prepared (maybe an understatement), and the staff is in the most secure place possible (game one in year one). one other tidbit before my prediction. Last year is the only time I can ever remember watching a football game, at any level, and getting physically sick when the kicker ran out on the field. Just knowing we have a new kicker gives me hope. 35-0 the good guys. We overwhelm them from start to finish!

Maryland comes out fired up, maybe even gets a couple of 3 & outs, but Texas defense is out for blood. Texas gets it together and wins going away, scoring in all phases, 52-7! Hook 'em!

All my predictions sucked last year, so ..... I will just predict a Longhorn win.

Harvey has to be a distraction for some of the young men, especially those from the Houston area, so I will be happy with a win by any amount.  I do believe TH will keep them focused enough to get by this week, then look out poor San Jose State.
