Vince Young trying out for Cleveland Browns

I would enjoy seeing VY get a legit shot. Two reservations with this scenario...

1. QB's die in Cleveland. I don't have enough faith in the team that would surround Young to hope that an opportunity there would be representative of his ability.

2. He hasn't played since 2011. That's a tremendously long time for a job that requires consistent repetition & practice. Assuming he's been working out means that he'd do well in combine-style drills, but put him in any kind of structured scrimmage and it would be tough on him.

hoping for the best for VY, but has there ever been a QB sit out two full seasons and return to the league ??

Kyle Shanahan is the OC in Cleveland now. Imagine he knows a little bit about Vince.

Tommy Maddox left the NFL one year and ended up becoming an Insurance agent for a while in Dallas. Then he ended up signing with a team in the XFL, tore it up on the field and got a new deal with the Steelers. I think he was gone from the NFL for three years. Gone from Football entirely for one-two years.

I had a bunch of people messing with me about VY today. I don't kknow if he can be a viable QB in the NFL but as long as I can look at the crappy two and three QB's in the NFL and think, "Hell VY has to be better than that!" I'll keep saying he should get a shot.

vince young, has more "change" than a las vegas slot machine.  why doesn't he just take the ut job for god's sake!  he would make a wonderful ambassador as per our university...  the perfect opportunity.

not sure, but i think the league minimum for a 5-year vet is north of $700K. eventually i'm sure he will make a fine ambassodor, but it won't be for that kind of $$$.

just saw a tweet saying that his agent announced that VY will be signing with the browns.

great news. happy for the guy.

Good for Vince!  It seems obvious to me that he has not been fairly considered in other situations.  It seems that he might still have a lot to offer.
