Here is what I got. Saban was presented a new extension yesterday but, as of this morning, has not signed it. However, I was told that things have gotten "more complicated" when it comes to Mack. He would not elaborate further on the Mack side, so I am not sure the details of what Mack is doing. However, he did say that Saban to Texas is not dead at this point. That was all I could get, and I did not want to push too hard given the change in tone. I will keep in touch if anything changes.

In about 8 hrs two football games will cause this to all come to a tipping point for the future of Texas football. Either Mack stays and we get more of his nonsense, only to have change occur most likely in a year, or the MBTF era will be over.

Anyone have any predictions as to these two games outcomes?

I believe OSU and BU will prevail today, and if so, change will come, probably quickly

It would be harder to fire Mack if we win a conference championship and go to a BCS game. I think the only way we get a new coach, whomever that maybe, will only come with a loss to Baylor.

IMO Mack is going to drag this thing as long as he can if he thinks Saban is the guy. It's been reported here that Mack does not like Saban and/or does not want him as his successor, so he will do whatever he can to prevent that from happening. If we beat Baylor, Mack is gets bolder. If we lose, he still will be in a bowl and will probably wait until very late to announce anything. Maybe long enough to keep Saban from accepting the UT job.

this is the scary part. i have to agree here.

Just out of curiosity, is this "source" that just 3 days ago told you such gems as "son, do you hear yourself? Saban to texas is done"!

Doc, how fast would change be if you know? Are we talking today or tomorrow?
I think it depends on the games.

If UT gets beat soundly, I think we will see an announcement within a week, depends on how Powers, the BOR and Mack play it politically. He may announce at the banquet or it may leak out that he will announce after the bowl game.

It is just too fluid to know how it will play out and it will depend on the three main players and how they respond to today's events.

Everyone should notice, the weather is predicted to be partly cloudy, winds 10-15' 30 degrees with 20 degree wind chill. Definitely tough conditions but not unplayable for the passing game, I think that will favor BU as their qb has a much better arm than Case.

Texas will have to play its best and have the run game going well, especially in the first half with Dixon not playing

"More complicated" is code for Joe Jamail asserting himself as Mack's attorney and benefactor.

are you here just to bash Mcpahul and all insiders? just curious. Would seem Orangebloods would fit that notion better

Why Why............Who the heck is Mack Brown that has screwed University of Texas for 4 years and the people that allows Mack to do this sh#t to the fans, players, students and ME.

If he is allowed to stay......next year will be he#l on Mack, UT, football team and fans,,,,,and for ten years. If you do not believe me then just see for your self!!!!!
