I am soo torn.

Half of me wants to cheer for Texas bc i felt Mack would be ok going out on top. Go 9-3(not as good as he had hoped) but somewhat respectable after the start we had. Ride out into the sunset.

Other half want Bu to put it all over us so that there is not choice even in Mack and JJs head that there is hope. Embarrassment 4 time in 1 year should hopefully put a nail in the coffin.

Sadly, a lot of us feel the same way. It's a damn shame Texas football has come to this. Mack Brown is not bigger than the University. Somebody needs to remind him of that.

Hate to say it but the evidence is moving toward that being wrong.

Mack's winning has allowed this situation to get this way. If he were losing it wouldn't be a discussion.

Assuming he has more than one source, perhaps one was unavailable or just decided they are not going to say anything. In that case if you have to get "something" youre only choice is go to an alternate.

Here is what I got. Saban was presented a new extension yesterday but, as of this morning, has not signed it. However, I was told that things have gotten "more complicated" when it comes to Mack. He would not elaborate further on the Mack side, so I am not sure the details of what Mack is doing. However, he did say that Saban to Texas is not dead at this point. That was all I could get, and I did not want to push too hard given the change in tone. I will keep in touch if anything changes.

McPhaul I know you are trying to provide us with good information. I think you will find most of us will not bash you we know what a tuff job you have. Trying to figure out what MB is going to do is like trying to forcast the weather. But it's time for the BMD to let MB know that he is not bigger than the program. I have a feeling that is finally going to happen if they see MB is trying to hang on for another season.

Unless Texas is figuring in the MNC game every year no one can be happy with the product that MB is putting on the field. My friends y'all have a great weekend and no I can not and will not pull for Texas to lose.

I'm sorry but Mack is ALL ABOUT MACK not UT. He knows he's easly forgotten if the next coach comes in and has great success and I believe he is scared to death that Saban would come in and Mack would be a name from the past. Mack will make this difficult until all big names are hired or sign extensions so we are left thinking he may be our best option. I can't believe I have gone from liking a coach so much to despising his every move.

I went to the source that has involved Saban being included in some O&G deals with exception that he is the HC at Texas. As you know, that topic was a real clincher for me. Saban is going to leave a lot of $ on the table if he does not come to Texas.

Another thing Greg, some of these guys talk to you when they want to talk to you. They are not always at my beck and call. I have been very good in the past about not pestering anyone and some of them have told me that they really appreciate that. They are aware that I have a new gig on Hornsports now and I could use info on a more regular basis but, these are very busy people and I'm not the first one they think about when they get up in the morning.

There is no guarantee that Mack won't be back after a loss either. I choose to root for the Horns regardless and let the chips fall where they may.

Although I am pulling for OU to take down OSU today, there is absolutely no way in hell or anywhere else that I could ever root for Baylor to beat Texas. It's just not possible, regardless of everything going on with Mack, Saban etc.
