The 2024 schedule has been released. Wow, what a way to start the SEC era.

– We get aggy, ou, and arkiesaw

– Georgia

– Colorado St isn't the pushover we thought they were. And Michigan will be a big, big test for a new QB at Texas.

– 4 straight home games in one stretch

The portal will be huge. We could lose a ton of talent, and the replacements are young.

A hell of a lot different than Iowa St, Houston and Kansas on the schedule. Can't wait!

I also like that D2 team on our schedule the game before Vandy. I keed, I keed. Agsy has that one circled in crayon already

That schedule has us playing the #1 and #2 ranked teams in the nation, currently.

I was looking around at other sec schedules, and they don't match up. I think the TBD designation may mean that those games are not necessarily listed in order.

Arkansas schedule shows them playing us much later in the year. I think the order is still to be decided.

Small sample size, but Colorado State may not be a Patsy, and you can bet UTSA will play tough. After ULM, I don't see a cupcake on the schedule other than aggy and maybe Vandy.

I am curious if that ULM game holds.

The SEC 8 game schedule has historically had an open week late in the year that has been filled with a cupcake. It is an advantage for the teams as they can get healthy, catch their breath, etc.

We'll be gutted next year with player departures, so im leaning that it might be a tough Round 1 in the SEC.

Probably a bit early to get into the specifics especially with a lot of unknowns regarding who will be on the team next year with NFL decisions and transfer portal decisions.

That said, I think we have plenty of young talent on campus, to step in a replace the guys we are losing.

Notice that the staff is only pushing for the highest-level talent in the HS ranks.  I can see them holding more spots than in the past for transfer portal candidates.

This staff has shown that they are not interested in taking fringe HS players and seemingly have had a very high hit rate so far (too early to really know). This also keeps spots open for their top targets to commit and or flip late.

I also think Texas is well positioned to benefit from the transfer portal like we did this past cycle.

Sark and Co (Billy Glasscock as director of player personnel) seem to be doing a great job so far.
