The Longhorns are set to take on the Mountaineers at 11:00 am Central Standard time at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin.  

The regular season finale couldn’t bring higher stakes for Shaka Smart and Texas, who likely need a win today to earn an invite to the NCAA Tournament.

There has been a lot of discussion related to the Big 12 Tournament and “what” Texas would need to do in order to make the NCAA’s should they lose today.  I talked with USA TODAY Sports bracketologist Shelby Mast and he clarified what weight the conference tournament games carried, if any.  I was told that the committee doesn’t factor those games into the decision.  Texas would need to reach the final game to remain in consideration.  

With that being said, today is essentially a play-in game for the ‘Horns.  Win and they are in.

Tip is at 11:00 am and will be televised on ESPN.

Huge win, I didn't watch again which sealed the victory.  Impressive without Bamba on the court.  Sims stat line was solid, looks like he made quite a few free throws to help secure this win.  No hack-a-Shaq for him this game.

Missed it again but glad to see the Horns pull it out. I'll watch the replay on the LHN.

The stats, minus FTs and TOs, look impressive. The Horns shot almost 58% from 3 land with Dylan going 5 of 7. Sims appears to have had a great day. Need to get Febres hitting his shots.
