I think in both Charlie Strong'a case AND in Tom Herman's case - the decision about their fate should not simply rest on this one final game before the end of the year when a decision needs to be made. I mean for us - it's ridiculous that after 3 years of observing and evaluating Charlie that we are only basing firing or keeping based on the outcome of one game against TCU. Same for Herman against Memphis. The whole body of work for both should have already been evaluated and should not be dependent or fluctuate so greatly based off 1 game when you have a larger sample size. Am I right?

Houston's players know he is leaving. What is their incentive to perform today? They are not going to major bowl and he won't coach. This game isn't what you look at.

Tell me how UH would have lost to KANSAS. Tell me how ISU would shut out UH. Tell me how a ref would have to explain to Herman that a holding penalty against OU would nullify an OU first down. I could go on.

When I was in college, I ate crappy food, drank crappy beer and drove a crappy car. After I git out and had more resources, I ate better food, drank better beer, and drove a better car. Sometimes you have to make do with what you have. When you get more resources, you do more of what you would rather have do.

I'm guessing that if/when Herman comes to Texas, he isn't going to be making the same decisions he would if he stiff had U of H level talent. What any team did to Houston doesn't really equate to the issues Herman will be dealing with should he come to Texas.

The reason Herman is attractive as an option for head coach is that he has shown he can work with what he has to a respectable degree.

The problems with Texas aren't limited to youth. Special teams sucks because of bad coaching. Missed tackles and poor fundamentals are a coaching issues. Poor game management is a coaching issue. Not being able to hire a staff that lasts an entire season isn't a youth related issue, it is a head coaching issue.

Kansas didn't beat Texas because their players were more experienced. Kansas beat Texas because Texas didn't show up ready to play. That isn't an issue of youth. That is, yet another, coaching issue.

The coaching issues can only be solved with a new coach. Herman probably isn't the best guy to have ever coached college football but, in life,when you have to pick one, you either pick the with the most attractive attributes, or the one with the biggest tits. In this case, I say Herman seems to have a lot of attractive attributes.
