A sip of coffee in, and it's game day again.

Happy Texas Independence Day to all my HS buddies. Looking for a great game today.

Today's matchup will have UT RHP Lukas Schiraldi (1-1, 6.00) against the Bearcats RHP Dirk Masters (0-0, 0.90)

First pitch scheduled for 10:05 AM CST. Stick around; I'll have the lineups when I get my hands on 'em.

Hook EM!!

This SHSU team can hit.

They definitely hit better than UH.

Gonna be a serious test for the pitchers.

Don't know how many of you are on Twitter, but I follow UT baseball. They posted that the entire team was hosted last night by the Clemens family at their home in the Houston area. The reports I've seen have all said it was a great evening and it is clear that the family loves The University!

Wrong team but great shot

Cool setting

This tourney has a great line up next year as well, too bad we are not in it (no Rice either) -- UH, Baylor, Bugeater, LSU, Miss St. and aggy.

Cool pic Juan. That was from yesterday though right? I don't know if we're wearing those unis again today.

Yes, i think it was yesterday.

I just like that type of shot.

Texas is wearing the all grays today.

SHSU is in all whites with an orange hat.

Texas is the Visiting Team today.

A few lineup notes:

Felts in to DH today for Barrera and Shaw in for Gurwitz.

Johnson moves up to 5-hole in the order.

The park is VERY quiet this morning.

Deep FO8; probably about 385, unfortunately, the wall is at 404.

Looks like the old Baltimore Orioles uniforms out there for SHSU...

Schiraldi in a bit of trouble here in the first.

If Lukas can work his way through this line-up and get us into the 6th in good shape, then it's job well done.

Plucheck up; bases loaded; 2 outs

1-0

2-0

6-3 ends the inning. LONG inning for Schiraldi. Need to get some runs back here.

After 1 complete; 0-2 SHSU

If Lukas can work his way through this line-up and get us into the 6th in good shape, then it's job well done.
He ain't making it to the 6th today.

Probably bad timing to say this, but I like the way SHSU plays ball.

They are fun to watch.

I like the coach.

Jus sayin.

This guy is not a UT guy, but still .....

Fittingly, on an inning where UT had its best hitter lay down a sac bunt, the team scores no runs.
— John Royal (@John_Royal) <a href="

5 runners left on base through 2 innings. Tough to win ballgames doing that. Especially for teams that have a hard time producing runs.

T2

Monte up

0-1

0-2

5-3; 1 out

McGuire up

1-0

FO9; 2 outs

Shaw up

Singles to RF

Hearing a little bit of life now in the park.

Marlow up

Checks runner

1-0 away

2-0 up/away

3-0 up

We can get to this pitcher with a little patience. Sit on the fastball and you'll get one left up.

Payton up

0-1 take

1-1 away

2-1 low/in

3-1 dirt

3-2 look

FO8

2 LOB; got to do a better job moving runners across the plate.
