SignUp Now!Now, now, there is no problem having a difference of opinion. Granted I do agree that we need to keep the derogatory comments to a minimum. Arguments are good and honestly good in a lot of ways. We all have different perspectives and that is absolutely fine. If not, it would be really boring.SOMEBODY has found their way to this site by mistake.
I'd say he was more called out for attacking other posters opinions, and mistating facts (ie. repeatedly pointing to a sub 30% completion over a 3 game span).DMAC, your opinions on whether he can improve or not are also assumptions, my friend.
The one fact on this thread is that we all are making a lot of assumptions based on our own point of view with little fact to back it up. All we have is a discussion here and as with any discussion it is full of opinions, apples, and oranges.
Whether Swoopes IS or IS NOT the starting QB of the future is something that will be handled on the field this Spring.

The one thing I would ask anyone is just keep a level head when arguing and let's not call out people for difference of opinions.
The so called attacking comments came flying from both sides, Considering you are on the Pro Swoopes side this thread I wouldnt expect less.I'd say he was more called out for attacking other posters opinions, and mistating facts (ie. repeatedly pointing to a sub 30% completion over a 3 game span).
Very low chance for anything positive when your QB turns it over 5 times... Two for immediate TD and 3 others that led to TDs same drive. We will learn a lot about both Swoopes and this team in this game.
Are we truly improved since K-State or has it been fools gold? How Swoopes and this team comes out will say a lot for where we go from here.
I personally think we have improved and will show up against TCU.
With Texas losing a lot of defensive talent at the end of this year, and the search for "the guy" at QB STILL ongoing, how in the world do you expect a nine win season next year? I hope I am very wrong, but I see another five or so loss season next year. Coach Strong's recruits can't show up on the 40 acres quick enough.I think making an assumption that Tyrone Swoopes improves at the QB position in 2015 is a pretty safe bet. Hell, I've been shocked at his development in 2014 in only a brief time with this coaching staff with inconsistent results. Whitewright Texas takes pride in the fact that they have a one screen movie theatre downtown with theatre style seating, allbeit, all at floor level. That is what you are dealing with when talking about Tyrone and where he grew up and played his HS football.
His leadership skills are being developed just like foot work at the position. There is damn near more players on the roster at UT than students who attended his HS.
He is a pocket passer without refined pro style offense skills, but has a big time arm and team should get better around him over the next couple of years.
Texas can win in 2015 with Tyrone Swoopes at QB. How many wins, I'm betting on 9.
