Sumlin has lost control

Son of a bitch this is frustrating, I guess it is a requirement to get arrested at least once to be our starting QB, a rite of passage, this should seal the deal for Hill winning the job.
I haven't been keeping up with the aggies - who is the heir apparent to Manziel, right now?

Mike, what is the full story on this kid? Was he with friends and why did they abandon him - if they did? Also, has it been determined it was alcohol or something else?

In all seriousness, I really hate to see this happen to the kid and to the aggies. No school and no kid should have to go through this kind of stuff.

I think you need to ask yourself why aggie misery brings you schadenfreude if they are irrelevant? Also need to ask yourself why the misery of some 18-22 year old is schadenfreude.
What separates us from them during Mack's glory years? You're just dragging us down to the same level of stupidity.
i've never said they're irrelevant. on the contrary, despite what some profess, a&m is our oldest rival and the ut/aggy game for much of our history has been as big or bigger than the ou game.
i'm not dragging anyone down. i'm an anonymous guy on a message board who evidently, unlike you, doesn't take any of this message board s*** too seriously. and i like to laugh at aggie problems. yeah, some kid had a PI and will pay a fine or whatever. Self inflicted 'misery' of this kind is open to some level of mockery.

What the hell happens to people when they go to College Station? One of the few aggies that I REALLY admired, Bucky Richardson, was busted for a DUI at 9:00 AM on a Sunday and in CS. I can't tell you how disheartening that was to me. I mean, damn, still drunk mid-morning on a Sunday. That is no way for a guy his age to live his life - demon alcohol.

I just got home from work and saw the news, I'll let you know if anything relevant pops up on the fansites or if any of my calls get answered with relevant info. As for the starting QB battles, it is a 3 way battle and I expect it to remain that way into the fall. Allen had the best scrimmage last week and many feel that if he continues to progress in the system (our coaches do coach our QBs regardless of what Shannon Terry would like us to believe) and can get accustomed to the speed of the game then he should be the starter. Hill has been inconsistent thus far and Joeckel is solid but not spectacular. Personally, I believe little of what has leaked out because the practices are closed and their is very little personnel involved in running the practice, so take all these observations with a grain of salt.

Who is Shannon Terry and what are the classifications of the QB's?

You guys might want to go check out 247, major stuff going down between Baylor and A&M. Hamm apparently posted some personal info about one of the mods on the Baylor site (rehab info). Taylor Hamm might actually get fired over this, was apparently banned from the Baylor boards.
Either you or somebody has got to flesh this comment out. This is juicy gossip and I would love to know the details. :)

for the love of god... is it just me?

for, i am not seeing the "quarterback vs a&m vs texas vs baylor vs tech" or anything else for that matter! all i can plainly see upon this most horrendous episode... is a (19yo kid) that very well could have lost his life upon last night. i am not at all concerned about this kid "winning a job".... all that i care about, is this kid "winning over the "problem" that apparently caused this sickening occurrence in the first place.

we all really need to just STOP and take a good look upon ourselves....

I think Sumlin wants agricultural to be seen as a fun place to come and play, win in the SEC, and not have to deal with what he'd think of as a bunch of ticky-tacky rules.

I don't think winning the SEC is a realistic goal for Aggy. I don't think too many HS kids think so either. I mean, with a Heisman QB, AA WR and stellar OL - they come back with a 4-loss season.

The hope they had of winning the conference is now in the NFL draft. Second place in their division is the more realistic goal and would be about as good as they could expect, IMO.

I don't particularly think Aggy fans care to win the SEC. I think they're just happy with a league that, for the time being, has made them feel accepted.

Remember this is College Station, I can guarantee Austin pd is more lenient when they see a drunk dude on the streets. Hes a college kid and college kids love to get drunk
He's 19. Not 21. Austin's pd may be more lenient on drunk dudes than College Station's pd. But no pd is lenient on drunken minors.

No one is going to get a pass from the cops when they are passed out drunk with zero situational awareness and no one to take care of them. The guy didn't even know his own name.

I would read that, but I have been banned from GBH because of the 21st Man story and for discussing the matter over on the Shag. Cuppy considers my even reading content at GBH to be a threat to the aggy way of life. They literally search UT sites for commentors who aren't complimentary to them or their school and ban them for comments in other contexts on other boards. Probably one of the thinnest skinned aggys out there, and that is saying a lot.

Jeez. Some of you sound like you went to seminary instead of college. Give it a rest. If it's really a problem, remember that it's not our problem.

Randolph, you are the man. It's easy to get banned from TexAgs, but to get banned from GBH took some doing. And I know why you were banned. Saying their so called "12th man" legend was utter BS, caused you to step over the line - in their opinion. :)

It proves a point I have made for years. Aggys are simply devoid of a sense of humor - particularly if they are a member of their little ROTC cult. AGGIES, on the other hand, have a modicum sense of humor and some are even rational - if you can believe it. :)

I got banned from GBH for posting on the Shag. Let that sink in. One of their lurkers reported me for prohibited speech on another forum and Cuppy banned me before I dared to utter prohibited thoughts on their forum.

LOL, you got banned for what you posted somewhere else?

Yep. What starts at Horn Sports...

I have to give props to Aaron for publishing my work. Neither of us thought it would be as much fun as it has been.

I thoroughly encourage anyone who has a story to tell to write it and submit it.

Sumlin never had control. aggy all about the swag and the end result. aggy don't care who gets hurt along the way. It's just one big party.

Future starter...no discipline but he may have to rub Drake & Johnny down after their workout & do some hip hop rapping for his playas..."hey my name is Kenny came here on a ath a letic grant you might find me at the club passed out in a potted plant..."*

I don't disagree with you Hornsalot...I'm just sayin' what I mentioned is what Sumlin's selling, since he's not into the used car business...I think. As for their membership in the SEC, ag fan may feel accepted, but if you do a quick and unscientific check around that league, you'll find plenty of people with "buyers' remorse" over their presence. Apparently, some folks in the SEC aren't any better than we are at figuring out aggy's "traditions".

You and I know the expected mean for agricultural in the SEC is probably a break-even record in their good years, and something less than a last place finish in the SEC West, which is a brutal half of a conference. However, I'm not so sure Texas high school players aren't buying what Sumlin's selling, at least until the shine wears off of Manziel's Heisman and Sumlin has to show he knows how to coach something other than offense.

My point above is just that Sumlin's selling an entirely different vision of TAMU than what Charlie's trying to sell about UT to recruits. My point is also that if Sumlin doesn't start acting the bad cop, he's in danger of losing that team to disciplinary problems of various sorts.
