Not sure of the "street cred" of BondLoungeHorn, but the guy is elsewhere saying this is a "done deal" at 5 million + per year to USC and they are looking to woo Charlie Strong.

Always thought Sumlin was a great fit for USC, and if he and Manziel were to fall out fairly quickly near the bowl game their 14 class could look very different than it does right now.

Once the shine wears off about the SEC move they are going to just suck all over again. What would you even do with $5million a year in College Station? Exotic cow tipping safaris?

Losing both Manziel and Sumlin this year would be catastrophic for Texas A&M. And I don't use the word catastrophic loosely. It's clear the players are committing to A&M lately because of three things: SEC, Sumlin and Manziel. When two of those three are gone and A&M is lying at the bottom of the SEC with Kentucky, Arkansas and Mississippi State, we're going to see a "snap to reality" for College Station. I think if Manziel, Evans and Sumlin all leave at the end of this Season, A&M will have a rough two-three years ahead of them. It's a team I could see fighting back into the middle of the pack but being a Big Dog in the SEC will take years of rebuilding and a great coach.

It will be interesting to see. I would think the time to announce a move would be soon after the Mizzou game on Nov 30. Doesn't make much sense to wait much longer. I'm sure he wants to get out of there as soon as possible. Who wouldn't?

They are staring at 4th in their division, behind Bama, LSU and Auburn. Its amazing that expectation are historically so low for the program that no one cares they aren't even close to a division championship or conference championship, let alone a MNC (I know, "wait till next year"). Those morons are so used to underperforming, they don't seem to care in the least that their season's defining goal is to make the Capitol One Bowl (if they can). Let's not kid ourselves, in their 5 big conference games (Fla, Bama, LSU last year, Auburn, Bama this year) they are a whopping 1-4 and they have one of the worst defenses in the nation. Their next two games will be interesting. They have to start showing they can beat decent teams on a consistent basis.

I've noticed that Aggie-land wears a very special form of blinder. You could call them Johnny-Blinders, SEC-Blinders, whatever you would like but the fact that they're wearing blinders is brutally evident. I'm not going to take a dump on everything they've done in their short tenure in the SEC. They can be proud of the fact they're boasting two straight winning seasons. And they can proud of the fact that they achieved more in this short tenure than anyone believed they would. But the amount of ignorance and/or arrogance they've displayed this season in their denial of the realities that will come in the next few seasons is dumbfounding. I understand that when "today is good" you want to hold on to the mindset that "tomorrow will be even better!" I feel like we've been guilty of the same thing when we thought we'd still be able to cruise into a National Championship after Vince Young announced he was going Pro. But to deny the fact that your team is going to suffer serious blow-back from the loss of a Heisman athlete is being inept. Add on to the fact that you're losing two potential first round picks in Mike Evans and Jake Matthews while also potentially losing Mike Sumlin...

The blinders are strong in Aggie Nation. And I don't blame them for wearing them...but at some point you have to take them off before your heart gets broke.

The problem I have with the aggies winning is what win this year can they hang there cap on. Losing JF is going to be painful for the aggies. Put a couple losing seasons together and the aggies will be having a coupon sell to fill the 20'000+ seat they are adding.

I don't like the aggies and that is just the way I am. I started watching the old SWC football in 1957. The aggies have always been bottom feeders in my eyes and I make no apologies for the way I feel.

My friends y'all have a good and safe week.

Trust me, I get the aggy blinders aspect. Its just amazing to see it in action. One would have thought that last year's Cotton Bowl would have been step 1, this year, step 2 and that they would have been looking to build toward something (remember back to the Rose Bowl against Michigan and how the 'Horns program focused on the eventual goal of the NMC). Remember back after their Cotton Bowl, when Manziel went bat-sh!t crazy, every aggy was insufferable and nothing else mattered to them. The were the greatestest!!!

I bash aggy far more than most people, and for good reason, but its amazing that there seems to be no focus from Sumlin or anyone else on building toward a goal of any sort. This year's team is certainly backsliding over last year's, simply because they have as good of a chance (if not better) at 8-4 as they do of 10-2 and their defense is certainly not progressing, yet no one over there cares. At no point during last year or this year have they even been whispered in the MNC conversation and with their problems on D, I doubt they will be next year, even if Manziel comes back (which he would be crazy to do). They certainly are an enthusiastic fanbase, but they don't seek to be very knowledgeable.

In their simple minds, they can justify a 5th place finish in the sec but not a 3rd place finish in the Big 12. They don't mind losing in the sec because it is perceived to be the best conference. It's the "collective" mentally of the conference...usually associated w/ bestiality or incest...

Would think Strong will hold out for the UF job, but the votes of confidence yesterday from the UF Prez and AD were either sincere or the kiss of death for Muschamp

bond is legit. we know each other. he is a great source. i know kk as well from back in the day. bond knows his stuff.

Strong would be a helluva hire. Don't think Louisville would let him get away easily.

Fact still remains... they found a diamond in Manziel/Evans. Those two won't be there next season, which will hurt them more than losing Sumlin.

I foresee many empty seats in the new Kyle 2.0 after a string of 7-5 and 6-6 seasons! Whoop!

Not to sound racist or anything, but I think A&M will have a very hard time recruiting the best African-American football players and athletes without a guy like Sumlin, or Strong, as head coach.

What's cool about College Station? It's freakin' Mayberry

What's cool about pretending to be Army? Nothing

Yes, I know the "SEC mystique" helps them. But for how long? Both A&M and Mizzou have exposed it as being overrated. SEC Network will have distribution problems, too, just like LHN.

Just my opinion. What do y'all think?

Thank you for clarification.

That would pretty much gut their little operation over there. Id be curious to see if Mack (the Gladewater DT) would reopen things if a new staff went in.
