Dont know much about him, but I expect the reaction among Horns fans will be negative because folks want Luck. But would people be so high on Luck if his son wasn't a great NFL QB? Is WVUs athletic dept that much better than ASUs? If they both have UT roots (UT law grads, like me), then perhaps Patterson is an equally good choice?

I don't know enough about either one to really have a preference. I just hope the best one is the one we get.

That's a possibility. I've seen posts from a lot of people on other boards that say Patterson is an asshole. Not idea if that is true or not. Maybe we need an asshole running the show.

Could it be Luck has backed off due to the unknown status of Mack Brown. Luck may want Mack retirement announcement before he accepts job and UT it not will to that just yet.. So they moved on to Patterson

I can tell you that WVU is convinced that Luck is/was gone. People in the know, that should know what's going on, including Jim Clements. My personal thought... all smoke.
