Should Petrino be fired at Arkansas?

I'm assuming with all of the reports that he is going to get fired tonight. Most people thought that Arkansas would not do it. That'll teach us.

Most Hog fans would rather see him stay. They can get past the womanizing but football is king and Petrino is a decent coach. Heck they lived with Bill Clinton for multiple terms you think they would let a coach have a second chance.

HE was canned as you expected. Assistant head coach Taver Johnson assuming responsibilities of head coach currently. Not sure if they will look elsewhere to fill the void but I would imagine they interview a handful of candidates.

I think this was the right move for Arkansas. Jeff Long nailed the press conference and his stock is soaring right now.

As for what Arkansas should do, I shared this on Twitter. Don't rush to hire a new coach yet. Hire Sean Payton as the interim head coach for the season, then use that time to evaluate the coaches out there and go after a solid candidate, not a re-tread like Butch Davis.

Petrino resurrected the Arkansas program back to the national limelight and I'm sure they will land another talented coach. He gave Jessica Dorrell $20,000 too before she was hired as student academic coordinator for the football program. Gotta feel for Petrino's wife and his 4 kids.
