Outlook:

Jonathan Holmes is the centerpiece of this Texas Longhorns basketball team. His presence in the gym, locker room and on the court is the leadership this Longhorns team needs to continue to be successful.

To take that next step and be a legit contender to get to the second weekend of the NCAA tournament, the Horns need their senior captain to keep them motivated and focused on the end goal. To keep them focused when all they want to do is quit for the day, or when they feel overwhelmed by the amount of work they must do, Holmes must assume responsibility and push the team forward.

I don't believe Jonathan Holmes will turn into a 20 ppg player this season. Rather that be a scoring machine, Holmes likes to facilitate play, and make the team better. He should improve to 15-16 ppg but if he doesn't, expect the assist numbers to rise as well as his free throw percentage numbers.
