Cincinnati head coach Tommy Tuberville is a real scum bag. When he coached at Texas Tech he talked to Cincinnati about a home and home game schedule.
Now that he has left Tech there is now no interest in a game series. Worse is guys like this continue to fail and get another chance. Once your are in the good old boy rotation, I guess you never leave?
Well Johnny Football has been having a gay time on spring break. He fired up the Aggie base by having a temporary tattoo of a longhorn placed below his chest. Now he has been spotted again with a near empty of tequila. Although he is only 20 the legal age to consume alcohol in Mexico is 18 or less if you have money.
I wonder where that hot girlfriend is spending her time? Sure seem like JM is spending a lot of time with dudes. Back in the day we used to go on spring break and chase women. Hey Lil' Johnny, whatever rocks your boat. What happens in Cabo, stays in Cabo.
All good things have to come to and so it did with the University of Texas streak of 14 consecutive years of making the NCAA basket ball tournament.
Their loss to Kansas St, 66-49 was typical of a trend of UT teams under Rick Barnes. They struggle to get to 50 points and when facing good, let alone great teams, they have no chance.
When asked what happened this season, Barnes said, "We just weren't good enough. In a moment of comic relief, funny man and stand up comic DeLoss Dodds said, "There are a lot of tournament teams that don't want to play this team." Well DeLoss it looks like the top seeds can sleep easy knowing they won't have to face the 'Walking Horns' in competition again this season. The mighty 16-17 Longhorns are done.
Now the question for Longhorn hoop fans is will junior to be Myck Kabongo go pro. ESPN had him ranked as #22 on their draft board but he has since dropped to #33. He is a tweener in the middle of the first and second round of the draft and he came back for his sophomore year because he wanted to bring up his draft value. It will be close but I think he needs a full season to improve his status.
Kabongo averaged 15.8 points and 5.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists, each higher than his freshman year. The team was also 5-3 with him in the lineup. Projecting those numbers for the entire season the Longhorn record of 16-17 could have been 20-13 if not for a $475 plane ticket.
The latest draft rumor on Marquis Goodwin is the Chicago Bears are looking at the former Longhorn to replace Johnny Knox. The loss of Knox was a blow to the Bears offense and they never did replace his speed and quickness. Knox retired due to back problems and although smaller( 5'9/170) than Knox(6'/190) Marquis does add one problem for defenses.
Marquis is just fast and it's nearly impossible to defense speed. You can't replicate it because Goodwin may well be the fastest player in the NFL.
With the downgrade of Devin Hester the Bears need a player to take that spot. Hester is just not a good receiver and with the de-emphasis on the return game, he is a guy without a position. I could see him being offensive rookie of the year if the Bears take him. It seems a perfect situation for Goodwin and of course all of Longhorn nation wishes him well.
Well that's it for another week and until we meet again have the next one on you.
