My goodness, there is just no end to this spy gate thing. At some point you'd think Michigan would can Harbaugh for the stain he's leaving on the university.

He says he had no knowledge of this, but that's even worse. That's a lack of program control.

And, Ohio St got slammed by NCAA and their HC fired because their QB traded his own equipment (jersey & old helmet?) for tattoos
Shouldnt have been a big deal at the time and not nearly as important now... but nothing compared to blatant cheating

Rumor today that Michigan was in contact with South Carolina to help them beat Tennessee last November and keep them out of the playoff.

They beat Tennessee 63-38 and were unranked at the time, while Tennessee was #5.

Even more interesting, Beamer was fined $25K a decade ago because he took information on Wake Forest from one of their former assistants the night before playing them.

It was called the "Wakeyleaks" scandal.

Considering he is involved in the play calling, it's not believable that he had no knowledge. IMHO , based on what we already know, he has no plausible deniability. And as you say not knowing wouldn't get him off the hook.

The real question is what will the B1G and the NCAA do about it and when.

I find it interesting how many Michigan fans are coming to his defense. I guess beating the OSU twice in a row, after being 2 and 15 in the previous 17 games makes you indispensable.

It doesn't really matter, but it makes me wonder how many fan bases would react this way if confronted with the same situation. I'm guessing lots, maybe most.

I'm not really following the story, but I have to wonder if those that are defending him are doing so because they believe he didn't know about it or they don't care whether he is guilty or not just as long as he continues to win.

The most common things you hear from them is that it's called scouting, and everyone does it. Basically conflating legal scouting with cheating by doing something that is explicitly against the rules.

I think it's a bit like politics, people often believe things that are objectively false, but since it fits their world view they accept it.

I think the NCAA will take this into 2024 and beyond. The Big 10 might act sooner. There are programs in that conference right now who don't want to play Michigan because of this.

History will tell us that the ncaa is gutless and the Michigan administration isn't going to do anything since they are undefeated. My guess would be that nothing happens until after the osu game. Michigan wins, then nothing happens.

I will say that this one is taking a life on it's own and it may be handled differently. They crossed over and messed with an sec team, so that could change something.
