I think weren’t they furnishing marijuana to players or at least look the other way while players used marijuana.  I think they were setting up girls for recruits and players.  I don’t know if Art was actually doing this but he didn’t monitor his program.  I think his son was in pretty deep but he walked away scott free and now making a million a year with the Pigs.  Baylor- the fans, the administration, coaches, everybody put their morals aside to win.  Some of them still thing Art was screwed.  For a Baptist school that’s bad.

Yeah SHA why would you be sorry if you didn’t do anything wrong………and I’d even say why were you fired if you didn’t do anything wrong?????
They had players they knew would test negative for THC pee'ing for the players they knew wouldn't.

Some players wondered why they would get tested every two weeks while others never were tested during the season at all.

Of course, his innocence was why he was fired. lol
Have you ever heard of a coach basically breaching his contract but being fully paid for said contract? The fact that he was paid all he was owed says a lot imo. Do I think he was completely "innocent" in his part? No. But I really don't believe that his "involvement" was as in depth as it was made out to be. But someone had to take the fall. And the powers that be chose him. It is was it is...

Sorry DBut, The saying "The Buck stops here" applies at the very least. There is no way he was oblivious to what was going on. Remember, Baylor paid that law firm for their assessment.

Oh I'm not saying he was oblivious. But I do believe that he did his part to report what he did know. And this is coming from a source that I would take a bullet for. I absolutely agree with "the buck stops here". I just don't think he's a guy who I would label as despicable and doesn't deserve to ever coach again. I just know there was more to it than what the general population was privy...but honestly I don't really care as what's happening in millionaire Art Briles life has zero bearing on what's happening in thousandaire Damon Butler's life lol

Here is some relevant information.

Baylor fired then-head coach Briles in 2016 after an independent investigation by law firm Pepper Hamilton into the school's handling of sexual violence allegations revealed a football program where players were "above the rules" with "no culture of accountability for misconduct." In addition, the findings "reflect significant concerns about the tone and culture within Baylor's football program as it relates to accountability for all forms of athlete misconduct."

While Briles was taking the program to unprecedented heights during his eight-year tenure, going 65-37 with two Big 12 championships, one lawsuit filed in 2017 alleged that at least 52 rapes by more than 30 football players happened over a four-year period.

From reports I read, he was involved in some shady things outside of the main things that got him in trouble. I don't want to get into those here. I preferred not to know that can happen at a baptist school.

Those things just didn't measure up to the rapes that got all the publicity.

No, I have not heard what you described. But I will tell you what I have heard . . . paying someone in order to have the path of least resistance (and path of least $$$ spent). Baylor simply figured paying him out, avoiding yet another legal fiasco that was sure to follow, was the cheapest and easiest thing to do. Like millionaires who get accused of sexual assault by people they've never met. They pay them off and go their way.

52 rapes by more than 30 football players happened over a four-year period.

DBut, are you telling me that all happened right under his nose and he knew nothing? Seriously? Did he just visit this football program from time to time or was he the head coach?

I never said he knew nothing. What I said was he did report those issues to whomever he was supposed to report them to. Again, I'm not really gonna waste too much time on Art Briles. For no reason other than I honestly don't care. But from I source I would absolutely stand in front of a bullet for, we can't necessarily believe that Art Briles is some monster who operated without any regard for those who were affected by this

Not sure who he reported what to. I guess it's possible he reported it to someone,  but reporting it and then not addressing the problem is in no way an acceptable response for a head coach who knows he may have players that pose a grave threat to other students
