**Running College Football Updates Thread**

If things hold to form as it sits right now, concerning who goes where and when, then the Big 12 will be a 14 team conference in 2024. The winner of that year would have some credibility.

The announcement of S Miss, Marshall and OD's decision to leave on June 20 this year (and let the lawyers sort it out) could accelerate everyone's timetable. Kind of a trickle up scenario.
14 teams = 2 divisions. We no longer play everybody. Gotta change the conference motto I suppose.

The numbers idea is not something I agree with. Numbers has never helped Conf USA or the Mountain West. Several of these teams are just ex-members of conferences that used that strategy. Once Texas and OU leaves, you're left with another Conference USA or close to it.

The Big 12 teams are already hurt by the "I wanna play in the SEC" thing, wait until Texas and OU are in the SEC.

The SEC will be 16 teams when we get there.

Yes, it will. But the SEC doesn't spend thousands of dollars bragging that every team plays every team.

The big 12 will have to lose that selling point.

The Big 12 will still be one of the best basketball conferences. But a tweener in football, not power 5 but better than G5.

It's not weird, it's disgraceful. Grambling has sunk to the lowest of lows.
I saw an interview with him last night and he said he is glad no wrong doing was found by any of the coaching staff and the school administrators.  He said the problem was there wasn’t as good of a reporting system in place for assault victims as there is today.  He said he is sorry for anyone that was hurt.

I guess I am going to have to go back and read exactly what happened or someone on here that knows enlighten me.  I thought they found numerous assaults by players and he was fired.  He’s acting like he had no wrong doing.

He's been in denial for years. The problem was, he knew about all the accusations and did nothing.

No, his staff did not rape anyone. But they didn't lift a finger when they could/should have.

He also brought problem players to the school, knowing their background but not doing anything to monitor their issues.

By the way, if you did nothing wrong, why are you sorry about anything?

He's a putz.

I think weren’t they furnishing marijuana to players or at least look the other way while players used marijuana.  I think they were setting up girls for recruits and players.  I don’t know if Art was actually doing this but he didn’t monitor his program.  I think his son was in pretty deep but he walked away scott free and now making a million a year with the Pigs.  Baylor- the fans, the administration, coaches, everybody put their morals aside to win.  Some of them still thing Art was screwed.  For a Baptist school that’s bad.

Yeah SHA why would you be sorry if you didn’t do anything wrong………and I’d even say why were you fired if you didn’t do anything wrong?????

I don't care about the pot because most (or a lot) of us did some in the 70s. Girls getting raped and looking the other way is way different, no matter what school you are. Even Doug Williams is upset with his alma mater.

For what it's worth, he was actually exonerated and paid out his contract...

He's actually not in denial...it's the truth
