How does Texas A$M get ranked #7 when at this moment, they don't even know who their QB will be? Thats where it all starts and it's wrapped in uncertainty, so they're a top 10 team?

It's a Coaches Poll. Feels like a Nick Saban thing.... who else could it be?

It's either a joke, something a Lane Kiffin or Mike Leach would do just to get a laugh.

Or, one of our early season opponents to boost our ranking to make the match up look better for them.

Otherwise, it just doesn't make sense.

Damn. Not good. Won't see him on the sideline for a while if at all.
This is turning into a big mess for OU.

The initial story (which didn't really hold water) was good enough to make the move without raising too many eyebrows. OU came off looking good, Gundy made off as a man who made a mistake but was sincerely apologetic. He could probably easily move on to the next stop of his coaching career without major issues.

OU then came back with a 2nd statement (for some reason??), that the word was used multiple times which really changes things for Gundy and brings into question his initial explanation. Then his daughter claps back at OU and lets it be known there is more to the story. Both sides now looking bad. Really a mistake to come back with the second statement, sounds like the boosters or fans were pressuring them for a better explanation of why they made the move.

Gundy is basically royalty there. My gut tells me that it was agregious enough that Venables had no choice but double down. The players know the truth and sweeping it under the rug would have killed the locker room.

My initial reaction is someone meant to vote for A&M.
