Reading tea leaves (somewhat) as it relates to announcing our next HC

So if "He" comes the news would be pretty big in the college football world. If we announced the hire on Jan 6th that would give us a lot of run and extra attention with a large audience. This makes the most sense for me with regard to announcement. I think if we do complete a coup it will be on Jan 6th. If no announcement is made on the 6th then I think our coach is either coaching in the nc game or the nfl playoffs.

Good thread idea.

I am only speculating as I've been told between Jan 3 and Jan 6., but I would think after Bama's bowl, probably the 3rd or 4th. If it hasn't happened by the 6th, then something went wrong and we're waiting on Jimbo to play his MNC game.

It would be the biggest news in college football in some time, no doubt. Especially after whats already happened.

if "he" is going to be the next HC I think your time frame of the 3-4 makes sense given how far things had theoretically progressed. It should very little time to button things up after their game.

If the new coach is anyone not coaching in the MNC I look for the announcement to come around noon Jan 6. If not I will tend to believe the new coach is coaching in the MNC. It just makes good sense to announce on the day of the biggest game of the year and what better way to get the message to recruits.

I think this is it. Write on.

If I'm not mistaken Saban is going to be doing commentary for the MNC.
 Bet those Auburn fans are going to have a problem with that one.

Is there an advantage to announcing before the 6th? Will it help recruiting to announce earlier?

The splash part make perfect sense to me from both Saban's point of view and from Texas'.

Since the Amour high school All-Star game is on the 8th when many all-stars will announce who they will play for...It would be great if announced on 6th.

If Mack's resignation announcement all but upstaged Heisman night, fathom what an HC announcement would do, say, the day before or day of the friggin' NC game and our new coach was in the booth.

If NS takes the job on the 3rd or 4th, it would like like he has been talking with UT behind the scenes during bowl season. If it is Saban, it will be announced between the 6th and the 10th. Same them for JF as Saban. You can't announce that Fisher is your new coach a day or 2 after he coaches a national championship game. There needs to be a week to 10 days before the hire would be made. If it is Jimbo it will be between the 10th and 14th. Just my opinion

Each passing day seems to take forever............Will our choice be one of excitement or disappointment.

I think this is a really good point. I hadn't considered the dynamics of a fisher announcement but your logic makes the most sense to me.
