What will the offense and defense look like with the top 3 candidates? I know it is had to determine with out knowing the Coordinators but what does each coaches history say about their preferences?

Saban-its kind of an unknown because he has been an I formation type downhill guy. He has evolved some to involve some spread concepts in the shotgun etc. It is an unknown if he still plans to do that if he is hired.

Briles- is what you see it what get. He is a spread guy that is run first which some dont realize. He uses the run game and spacing on the field to create lanes for his players. Once he has the run game, it opens up the PA passing game and the screen game. Its a cat mouse game with him but it starts with the run. You adjust to one and he goes to the other. He makes you pick your poison unless you can stop both which many teams can't. You don't see many receivers line up outside the numbers like Briles has. That is what creates the slant routes and the skinny's that Baylor has used to allow guys to break free. He uses motion and misdirection as well. Love his offense.

Fisher is a combo of the two but he has an athletic freak at QB so it really makes it look better than what it might be otherwise. He is a spread guy right now but he wasn't at LSU under Saban. He can be a traditionally I lead back guy too. He is multiple and can adjust to whatever he needs to do. He uses misdirection, screens etc. His offense is kinda like a Briles 2.0. What he would run in the Big 12 is probably what you see with Winston. Fisher doesn't use the field ad horizontally as Briles but he has better athletes where he can win matchups that Briles can't.

Hope that helps some

Do not profess to be an X's and O's expert by any means but with Saban . .I would see us running plenty of power. Lots of 2 TE given our current talent but I can see him hiring someone who would mix in some 3/4 wides too. . .but run game focused.

With Fisher . ..frankly his offense at FSU looks a great deal like the Colt offense which fits Swoopes and Heard well . .or Ash assuming he's back. I would imagine Fisher in a 3 WR base set though and would use our WRs in the short passing game.

Not sure we have a QB on campus (unless Ash is truly back) who can run Briles' O so I'd see him using 3 and 4 wides to spread the field and run loads of combo routes to free up WRs (think Marcus' scoring play vs OU but more of them). Briles' current O goes sideline to sideline and requires a QB with a big arm.

Strong. . .see Fisher. . .the Colt offense

Harbaugh? Haven't a clue

Thanks guys that is the kind of info I'm looking for. Which coach fits the current talent the best? I wish I knew what Harbaugh would bring.

Great stuff Coach. Do you see anyone of the three being a better X & O coach than another and do you see one more wiling and able to make adjustments in their game plan to take advantage of what the other team is doing and or giving them.

Thanks for your insight.

Offensively it would appear to be Fisher or Briles . ..

With Saban Harbaugh or Strong. .it depends on who their OC would be I would imagine. . .

Wonder if one would money whip Chad Morris for a year or 2. .

If you watch the NFL, Gruden does one thing very well . He can breakdown a quarterback. He knows what to look for and what he's seeing. What was our biggest breakdown the last 4 years? Quarterback evaluation and development! Look at all the Quarterbks in the pros that came from the state of Texas but not from The U! It's all about the QBS! How do you see Gruden now!

I would think each man would incorporate a massive, yet athletic offensive line. From there, each would ensure they at least had two reliable TEs on the roster, and Strong/Saban would ensure they had a strong armed QB with at least some mobility. Briles would probably have the dual threat QB and wouldnt care so much about the TE.

The thing I like more about Saban/Strong is their offenses "should" have much more flexibility in being able to go into a shell and hammer the run game if they need to. Art Briles offenses are not built to get in two TE sets and run the ball 10 plays on a drive.

My guess is we will look like Stanford under his brother. They both were taught by their father. While we will have a pro style offense, I hope he would incorporate some of the spread for our running quarterbacks.

I admire the Stanford program for their toughness, ever since Jim took over.

All u need to know is if Saban comes, texas will knock people on their asses again and we will be feared when they throw over the middle. he will run and control the clock and basically just win games by beating the opponent down. I would much rather see that than some up tempo fancy offense and a defense that couldn't stop anyone.

Sec 7 consecutive titles for a reason, they play defense. Fsu plays defense and offense which is truly scary and doesn't happen often. So if not for saban, fisher hands down second best coach that could come here.

I fisher can bring a Saban style defense and a Briles style offense I'm all in.

saban could come in and hire briles offensive coordinator, its not briles calling the plays.

I honestly dont know what Harbaugh would run. You're getting into such an elite level mind he could do a number of things early on while he builds what he wants. John wont come here without a plan for doing the best he can now while building for 2015.

I dont care what anyone else says, I dont think Flacco is an elite QB at all, and he won a Super Bowl and has done great with him under center. Of all the candidates, I think John is best equipped to come in here with the mess at QB we have and thrive right away.
