Post NSD1: Who is left on the board?

He was a go to receiver for a stretch, than disappeared with a half game suspension and less production.  Have to chuckle at the homesick angle, isn't he from the far away land of Manvel near Dallas?

Manvel is south of Houston between Pearland and Lake Jackson

Thanks to all the HS staff for a great couple of days reporting. Good stuff as always.

On another note, I didn’t see if this was discussed but I know you guys couldn’t discuss it at the time. I’ve always been curious on what happened with the whole Chaisson situation last year?

Lol. Oh boy. That recruitment was crazy. He basically told both staffs at one point in time he was committed to them and told both before signing day he was coming to their school. Kid lived for the drama.

Yeah I don’t want to re-open old wounds on this issue. Probably better for an offline discussion at this point.

IMO... outstanding class, but the lack of bigs on both sides of the ball holds the grade down for now.

Plenty of cannon balls, but not enough cannons.

B+

I would argue they got 4 quality bigs on the offensive side of the ball.  Moore, Angilau, Ghirmai, Grandy are exactly what they needed.  Grandy has potential to contribute from day 1.  Ghirmai and Angilau seem like they can contribute immediately, but would be better with a RS. Moore definitely needs a RS, but will be ready to contribute in year 2.  I thought they did well on offensive bigs.  As it stands right now, next year looks pretty decent barring injuries.  Rodriquez, Vahe, Shack, Grandy/Hudson, and Kerstetter as starters.  Cosmi (I've heard really good things about him), Urquidez, Grandy/Hudson, Imade, and Okafor as primary backups (hopefully one of them can be a backup C) would be nice and not have to rely on incoming freshmen.  This isnt even taking into account a grad transfer or another JUCO or 2 in february.  TE looks pretty decent as well if Beck is in the mix.  Beck, Brewer, and Leitao should allow Epps to RS.

Defensive bigs is another story.  Wouldve liked Coburn to sign early, but theyre not out of it for him.  Need 1 more DT and 1-2 DEs to round it out.  Overall, I would give them a solid B+ for this class so far.  Ink Coburn and Ingram in February then it's an A-.  Sign another DT and 2 DEs then it's an A+.
