Piggies vs ags

I became a Longhorn at age 4. I had an aunt who would visit often and was a huge Sooner fan. It was because of her nasty talk during games with Texas that I became a Texas fan. I couldn't stay in the room with her. These were the Switzer years.

Years later, she's in the hospital in Norman (where she lived). She had a tumor removed. While Im sitting there in her hospital room, a fugly dude walks in with a smirk on his face. He went to shake hands around the room. I leave the room before he gets to me. It was Switzer. lol
That's one of the saddest stories I ever heard, SHA.  They removed one tumor and another one walks through the door...

Wild, huh?

I have another one. About 4-5 years later, my uncle, coach Hershell Kimbrell was in a Dallas hospital with a brain tumor. He had completed a successful surgery and was a couple days out of recovery. Again, I'm sitting in the room with other family members when into the door walks another coach. Grant Teaff.

I hung around and shook his hand. Incredibly colorful guy. I'll never forget that day. I learned that day that my uncle was the first coach Grant Teaff ever worked for. That was at McMurry in Abilene.

The one coach I always wanted to meet, I never got to meet – DKR. Though I did get scouted by Gus and met him once in Daingerfield.
