An insider with Michigan State connections just posted on OBs that Pat Narduzzi will be Saban's DC

Could the process really be that far along that saban would be choosing a dc already? I could see where informal negotiations may be happening with saban but a dc? Cujo also seems to think amie is legit.

Michigan states defense has been outstanding this year. That would be a homerun hire, I am just extremely skeptical that this that far along.

You guys know why Narduzzi would be a good hire, outside of the fact that he's a badass? The fact that aggy went after him a couple of years ago and thought they had him but he ended up turning them down and staying at Mich State. It would be great to be able to get him a couple of years later.

Was just looking at MSU's Defensive stats, would definitely be a nice pick-up. The fact that Mark Dantonio is from the Saban tree is very interesting.

With his salary of 500K at MSU he would be in line for a nice pay raise as well.

He's a good DC in the Big 10. Would it for sure translate down here where the WR's dont run 5.0 forty yard dash times?

Working with Saban alleviates those worries. It's not like the Mich State defense is loaded with 4.4 40 5 star studs either.

I doubt that the process is any where near that far along.

No idea who this guy is. Can he defend the spread? Thats the biggest ? coming into the Big 12. MSU has had a pretty decent D, but outside of tOsu not many above average Offenses in Big 10, maybe Indiana and Michigan. MSU doesnt play tOsu in regular season, they held a Indiana to their lowest point total this year 28 and play Michigan this week. Ill have to watch and see that D.

I also think this is happening a bit too fast. I hope its all true but until that lottery check clears, ill still be skeptical but with a smile on my face.

Michigan St D was very good today. Got to see that D for the first time this year and i was impressed with Narduzzi. They have held 4 teams to 6 pts or less, not bad even in the powerhouse of offenses in the Big10. That D is holding Offenses to 11 points per game and the most given up is 28 to an Indiana team averaging 42ppg.

MSU should win out and play tOsu in the Big10 title game and play a another spread O. We need to really consider this guy as the DC next year.

If Mack comes back, give me Greg Robinson one more year. What he's done with this unit in the past five game is phenomenal.

While I completely agree, Greg signed on as interim D coordinator for the rest of the year only and has no desire to extend that for an additional year from what I have heard.

If Mack comes back...
Okay, that is frightening.

If Mack comes back, it will be the biggest mistake this program has made in nearly 40 years and one that will probably take a decade to overcome.

Let's be realistic here and use some long-term thinking. Mack Brown needs to go. For a plethora of reasons but probably the biggest is the one no one is talking about. If he is allowed to come back next season, this program will sink to depths that would be difficult for any new coach to overcome within a couple of seasons no matter what his last name is.

Hook'em!

Agree 100% which is why I said "IF".
