I’m never one to say there is a such thing as a good loss, but this is certainly a teaching loss if I’ve ever seen one. If you are going to be successful you have got to throw strikes and catch the f’n baseball. There are people that lost jobs tonight and sometimes that is better for a coach than someone winning a job.

I tend to agree. Also, I have a feeling this type of loss came at a very good time.  Gives Pierce & co a chance to use it as a very good teaching moment.

So like aggy we had the best loss of ranked teams tonight, and we are winners if multiple big 12 teams won! Big12Big12Big12!!!!

Wow. How’s the view from that limb?

The point of my post was that good teams lose to lesser talented teams from time to time, and it can happen in midweek games.  Big D1 teams typically use midweek matchups, especially early in the season, to get looks at young players that don’t get time in big weekend series. The smaller schools often will play their best lineup in these games, including, as we saw tonight, throwing a weekend starter. It happens, and as in the tweet, you can see it’s not out of the norm. Sam Houston St was up 10-3 on TCU tonight before the game was called due to fog.

My post was in no way trying to call this some kind of moral victory. It’s a loss. A bad loss, but one that offers a lot of opportunities for this staff to talk to the players about in the coming days.
