The point of my post was that good teams lose to lesser talented teams from time to time, and it can happen in midweek games. Big D1 teams typically use midweek matchups, especially early in the season, to get looks at young players that don’t get time in big weekend series. The smaller schools often will play their best lineup in these games, including, as we saw tonight, throwing a weekend starter. It happens, and as in the tweet, you can see it’s not out of the norm. Sam Houston St was up 10-3 on TCU tonight before the game was called due to fog.
My post was in no way trying to call this some kind of moral victory. It’s a loss. A bad loss, but one that offers a lot of opportunities for this staff to talk to the players about in the coming days.
