OC Candidates

Yes, Herman was Bailiff's original OC at Rice. He succeeded Major Applewhite at Rice. Now wouldn't that be ironic.

BTW, Tom Herman is a really nice guy. Very soft spoken every time I was around him. He seemed to like working with smart athletes. Kinda surprised he ended up at tOSU since they're so well known for their scholar athletes.

IMO, would be a gret fit here.

Yes I confirmed again. Contract is in house. No I don't know length or amount because I never press on details like that but it is complete. I asked him about Morris and he is a guy they like but don't think will happen.

That is HUGE news right there... Thanks for sharing and welocme to.Hornsports

Love the Morris choice. How about Scott Frost from Oregon? With Heard coming in, and if Daje gets his act together, with the combo of Gray, it could be like Mariota/Thomas/Barner. I'm giddy about what a great coaching staff can do with our players.

Frost worries me a little bit because you don't know how much influence he has compared to Helfrich. Of course everyone wondered how much influence Helfrich had in regards to Kelly to and the offense didn't seem to miss a beat this year.

I'd like to go after someone a little more established, but his name should definitely be in discussion if guys like Morris or Herman say no.

..and yet ESPN continues to deny it. Just got what has to be at least the 10th alert from them on my phone having in someway to do with a report that Saban is not coming to Texas. Latest is AJ McCarron stating Nick told him he was staying. . I can't remember a story where there have been so many diametrically opposed reports coming out day after day. There are going to be an epic number of people eating crow when all the smoke clears.

Uhh... is Austinhorn1 an "insider"? Can McPhaul confirm/deny this?

Disagree on that. Helfrich didn't run that ball near as much as Kelly did. I grew up in Oregon and my family lives there so they keep me informed. They are on the decline under Helfrich. A couple years and they won't be relevant.

that article they ran is the same that was run earlier, except the left out a few key phrases.. including aj saying saban told him "a while back" he wasn't leaving..

if Austinhorn is right the he deserves at least a 1 on his rep power. lol

How does this not merit its own thread? And why the nonchalant "by the way..." within another thread? I just don't get it. Finding this hard to believe.

Morris would be great. Former high school coach here and unless he was a jacka$$ to his peers, should do great with recruiting (like Briles, perhaps?).

We don't know you from Mary. This being a free board where trolls multiply like Gremlins, I'll wait for McPhaul or hell even Cosell to confirm this above quote before I believe it.

the money that's going to be spent for a staff will be an amazing number. One of the top recruiting coordinators in the country is rumored to be on the way if Saban inks the deal. And yes, recruiting is going to get fun again really soon.
