Tune in tomorrow to Charlie Strong's weekly presser to see what he has to say after losing a tough one to Kansas State. For many, this was the last straw for Strong. Many are calling for his head now, and for many reasons, rightfully so. This team does not appear coached/confident on the field. Follow my live thread of what Strong and his players have to say here. Also, if you are just bored on Sunday night, read the article below. It's very interesting. Any takers on who the mystery coach is? See y'all tomorrow.

I have no clue who the Coach might be but I think the article is a very honest analysis of Strong and his Coaching Staff .  In terms of the comments regarding Herman ,  I need to see how Houston finishes this season as they got killed by a much less talented and injured SMU team, plus they actually came close to losing to Tulsa  and did get beat by Navy.

Take a second to decipher that article with the mysterious coach. It said an assistant coach from a rival team that we played already. And he said they would love to have a player like Malik Jefferson on their team. It clearly isn't Oklahoma, it's Oklahoma State. Plus he said "Their players are so talented, their not being coached up."

"Tom Herman would have this roster in the final four next year."

Has Oklahoma State written all over it because there's no way Oklahoma would say that.

The only thing different is the date.  Charlie doesn't appear to have any answers.  Same answers that Mike mentioned.

The players keep mentioning the players not preparing, not being disciplined., lack of focus, not studying, etc.

Wait a sec....wasnt that the bitch about Mack Browns teams?   Entitled players not studying or trying?

So we are paying 5 million a year for this garbage.

I was able to see a small portion of Charlie's presser and I must say he sounded troubled and defeated.  I really hate to see that, because I had such high hopes for him when he first came here and started to weed out some of our malcontents.  I am afraid we are going to have a really hard time attracting quality talent, this coming signing season- they will be afraid to come to Texas after this season.

Thoughts on the press conference?
Watched the entire press conference.

Lots of evasive answers, which is probably pretty common in press conferences after a loss.

First one I've ever watched so I don't know what Charlie's usual demeanor is but he wasn't exactly Mr. Sunshine.

But I didn't expect him to be either.

One thing I remember specifically from the press conference was when someone asked why Davis and Hill weren't playing.

His answer was that Bonney was playing good.

I always thought our own Ryan Bridges was pretty smart with his game reviews but I guess not  ;)

The best part is we won't have to endure but 4 more of these from Strong. The end is near.

The last thing I want to hear is Charlie Strong talking about football.

He needs to go and go now. There is no downside from kicking him out right now.
But if you kick him out now, the rest of this season as well as recruiting will absolutely go down the toilet. Not only that, but we would probably have a mass exodus of players because they love Charlie so much and that would set us back at least 3 more years.

Because of that, I don't see how you can let Charlie go now. In fact, if he can win out this year that gets him back to right around .500 at Texas. And if that happens, then you almost have to extend his salary at least 2 more years don't you? Because he would that much closer to turning this thing around. Amirite?

I assume you are being sarcastic. If Charlie wins out I will shit a gold brick.

There's no more to lose by firing his ass now than the first day after the season is over. The recruiting hit we will take depends on who we hire.

Not being sarcastic. More like very sarcastic.

I actually agree with you.

The toilet is flushing but it isnt going down...clogged and overflowing.

Besides what difference does a top 10 class make if they arent prepared to play?

“Malik isn’t the same guy as he was last year,†the assistant said. “We’d die for a player with that talent, but he’s not being used right. He needs to be on the edge. If you run at him, he’s weak.â€

It’s not just Jefferson with stunted growth. Holton Hill and Davante Davis earned All-Big 12 honors as freshman, but both have slumped as sophomores. Hill isn’t even on the field for large stretches of the game as Texas sits at 102nd nationally against the pass.

“Their cornerbacks, guys Charlie recruited, are not being coached up,†the assistant said.

All in all, the Longhorns have the No. 11 most-talented roster in college football, per the 247Sports Team Talent Composite, yet at 3-4, don't have the record to match.
I want to watch great football not just great recruiting.
