max wittek

A source now says Wittek is now also considering at Hawaii and Louisville.

What is his graduate major?
Psychology. He started early, spring enrollment. And will complete the degree requirements as a junior. Interestingly, he will have 2 years left, not one like occurs in most of these situations.

In two season he has completed 50 of 95 passes for 600 yards. He has 3 touchdown passes and 6 interceptions. If we are looking for the next Case McCoy, I think we have our guy.

Yeah, no.

He might suck - but he will suck in entirely different ways. Unlike McCoy, Wittek is capable of throwing the ball past the line-of-scrimmage with a little velocity.

Considering Ash may never play another snap - and if he does he could be one head bump away from retirement - I like the idea of someone with a little experience on the depth chart. Wittek was a 4 star who had a lot of promise coming out of college. Who knows - maybe the change of scenery and some new coaches might get it out of him.

Wittek sez:

The thing that's most appealing (about the Texas coaching staff) is what they did at Louisville, looking at the way they managed that offense and the relationship Teddy (Bridgewater) had with Coach Watson and Coach Strong. Those are things I look heavily into because I want to have a great relationship with the coaching staff. Being a grad student my class obligations will be less than they have been so I'm really looking to spend more time up in the offices and I really want to have that good relationship with the coaching staff.

So I thought this was going to be a spread offense? Why bring in a pro style passer? I sure hope the offensive staff knows what they are doing. Either they are going to do something brilliant and new, or there is going to be a battle of offensive philosophies between the coordinators. I hope it's the former and not the latter.

You dont have to bring in mobile QBs to run the spread. Plus this is to give us Depth so Swoopes and Heard have time to Develop.

I dont see us playing swoops with hm heard waiting now. I mean what year would he play qb.

You're just assuming Heard is going to start as a RS Freshman. Let's get the kid on campus and see if he can run a college offense before we give him the starting job.

I imagine all Swoopes is going to want is the opportunity. He'll get that under Strong and Watson.

You mean like the spread ou ran with pro style passer Bradford isn't OK?

You sure hope offensive staff knows what they are doing? Maybe posters should understand exactly what a spread offense is before posting.

For the love of God, please make it stop.

This is a charlie Strong team not an Art Briles team. . .offense will move the chains and grind down the opposition .. .not unlike UL this year. . .only #26 in scoring but #3 in 3rd down conversions and TOP. . . .

Defense wins championships. . . .see Seattle. . .see Bama . .see LSU .. .see Florida. . .both TEXAS And USC were held under their season scoring averages in hte greatest title game played. .. .

Calling a kid "the next Case McCoy" is just about the worst thing you can call a kid... Shame. Haha
