LHN Ratings Sweep?

Beginning of the end?  It's a guaranteed contract, let them slice and dice.  All access and other shows will be missed, but not Longhorn Extra.
The beginning of the end, in a sense. From all accounts, it certainly looks as if the existing LHN deal is going to expire in 2030.

I've wondered why ESPN would not try to negotiate with us, and in turn, the Big 12. ESPN is locked in until 2030, so work out a deal with UT and the Big 12 to morph LHN into a Big 12 Network. Although the networks are more gun shy to sign on for conference networks, ESPN is in a corner because of the LHN deal. I would think they would be willing to try a Big 12 network based on the money they're losing on LHN. Additionally, we would also be able to offer this to the ACC schools since their conference likely won't get a network deal done.

try a Big 12 network
randolph has pretty clearly shown that the era of conference networks has gone kaput.  i don't think we want involvement in such a thing.  there won't be any money to speak of, and that's the big attraction.  the big games were never going to be on the network.

to my knowledge nothing has been said about any cutbacks other than the expensive live shows.  if we can continue to promote the school and athletic programs while depositing some large checks, i think it is in our interest to hold onto that as long as we can.  it's not just about the benjamins.

Yup, the money is in T1/T2 rights vs conference networks.

Also, it looks like the AAS jumped the gun. No surprise.

it's just speculation from people on Twitter. Having studio shows pulled from a network does seem like a big deal though
It looks as if the producers at LHN don't think the studio shows are going away.

Nothing that I've read said the studio shows are going away completely.

Only the daily "Longhorn Extra". It's my understanding that we'll now have a weekly magazine-type program.

Yup, they cut the stand alone "All Access", but are going to utilize more all-access covering football in specific.  The dipsticks at ASS love to neg rep the LHN, etc... and did a poor job for a nightly 30 minute show getting dumped.

All Access was the most compelling show to be canceled and it was canceled after the season ended.
