Kyler Murray Scouting Report

Found this scouting report yesterday which confirmed on why I'm excited about the chance to sign Kyler. Murray can have the same impact on the program as great QBs of the past like VY and James Street.  We can see what other players think about him by lining up to play with him like Mack, Lodge, and Soso. His best stat is 43-0 as a QB in high school. This is a scouting report from Michael White who is the Player Personnel for the Nike 11, this was posted on studentsports.com.

Physical tools: Evidenced by the ridiculous stats Murray put up last year, this is a player that can change the outcome in a variety of ways. At last year's Dallas Nike Football Training camp, Murray measured in at 5-11, 166 pounds, but don't think for a second his size holds him back. With his natural throwing ability and electrifying running skills, Murray can do anything a taller QB can do. One area that really stands out is how dynamic an open field runner he is once he decides to tuck the ball and head down the field. His tape may remind you of a certain Heisman Trophy winner who helms a team in College Station.

Football IQ and Instincts: This is an area that sets Murray apart from other quarterbacks. At last year's Elite 11 and Nike camp in Dallas, Murray amazed with how well he knew the position and the play developing in front of him. Murray consistently fit the ball in tight coverage because he knew exactly where the target was going, not where he was at the time. On film you see the same attributes. Murray is able to make quick decisions because he has the I.Q. to analyze what the defense is giving him pre-play. It carries over to the run game, where's he's careful to pick and choose the best times to run based on the lanes that open up in certain schemes the defense throws at him.

Quarterback Intangibles: It's hard to single out an area that Murray needs to focus in on fine-tuning. On film, this is a player with an enormous amount of confidence in his abilities to affect the outcome of the game. Murray excels at throwing in the pocket and really trust that his teammates will get to their spots. Rarely will you see Murray get rattled or forced to make a bad decision. This is a result of good mechanics and good pocket awareness.

The Bottom Line

Murray is the real deal and can change the outcome of a game in a flash. This is a very talented player that can line up at any offensive skill position and be the best player on the field. It's hard to find a guy who more determined to improve every single play. Murray will make an immediate impact at the next level, not just on the field, but by being a leader capable of raising his teammates' level of play.

That is some good writing and I am SOLD...Come on down Kyler with all your friends with you........ :)

Other than accurate passing, this is what's really missing with Swoopes. He doesn't project confidence or inspire his teammates.

At least I didn't see it

Great read, where did you find it. . . .
It's posted in the comments I made before the scouting report. If or when Kyler commits to us, that's going to be a nightmare for the aggies. When I went over to the aggie board in December to check on their recruiting and DC search there were articles and threads on how great a QB Murray is and will be in college. That's about the only subject I could agree about with the aggies. Everything else they said I found cult like, that didn't have much to do with reality.

I would really enjoy if the next great UT QB was named after A&Ms home field. Oh the irony.

Remind you of anyone?

The real: Kyler Murray is 5'9. The also real: Only slight on his scouting report. Everything else is absolutely elite-level, once in a lifetime, kids don't usually come like this one. I had made a private statement, perhaps idiotically, that I felt Murray could see be the guy in College Station in 2015 while Kenny Hill was the starter and Kyle Allen was still there. Sure, Allen looked great in the bowl game. But so did Trevor Knight once. Am I writing off Trevor Knight? No. Did you guys write off Boykin? I did not. Quarterback is a strange thing. Murray has everything you need. So he's 5'9. So what.

Do not give me NFL measurements. It is not my job to care whether Murray takes a snap in the NFL or not. All may be a moot point anyhow. The baseball discussion is real. Tape available if you are bored. Playing baseball during spring practice has negative perception these days.

So imagine if we do go through this whole charade and he ends up playing baseball.

Thanks, I was looking at your website. I was curious if your posting as UT fans or in connection to your business?

Would be absolutely nothing to gain by posting as my personal business. Actually. Good point. I will alter this immediately.

Got it changed. You raised a valid point, although my participation recently was due to respect one of the founders and a constant contributor. I see what you were getting at. Fair play.

I was just wondering, I wasn't calling you out.  Your post are welcome no matter how you post.

You raised a sincerely valid point, just being completely honest. Our service is free to high school prospects, but I understand your concern. Let's just say our company has had some negative press here in the past, I get the question probably daily. Not the selfie at a game guy, not a guy who takes Twitter pics of prospects anymore (used to do that)... paid attendee at games in 2014. Used to have press passes for these things, not press anymore despite some preseason talk, had no reason to have credentials so I was in the stands with a notebook like the old days. That's what happened.

The guy I am speaking of had a near brawl with a former UT quarterback/offensive coach at the facility. He is back in scouting now. "WILL" not mention names. Funny how this coach is now in Houston where this guy is trying to get his business started again. Karma? Perhaps, but I am not a judgmental person.
