Actually that was incorrect, Geoff did not take a shot or better yet make a light hearted jab at us.

Well what do you do? Hell, Ketch is right! We are the Minor B team:D in the Little League.

However IMO, Hornsports has some Major League All Star posters playing on our Minor B team:) and I for one feel fortunate to have them over here.

With that said, Ketchs' math is a little off.

One month ago Hornsports had approximately had 1000 users. Today we have 2554 registered posters. You let that upward growth set in.

Everyone has to start somewhere but, all of you guys & gals should be proud of where we started and where we are at today.

I'm optimistic about the future of this site. We really do have some great plans in the works.

Geoff Ketchum & Clendon Ross are to be commended for the sites they have built. I am in awe of their accomplishments. As I have said before, I'm going to try my best to incorporate on Hornsports what they have done well and avoid the mistakes they may have made.

Let's refrain from getting into or creating any site war. Let's just enjoy what you all are building over here.

Regardless of our numbers, we can have a high class of of poster and that is what we are striving for. Hornsports is not going to jeopardize our class of poster just to increase our membership. We believe that approach will serve us well in the future?

Keep spreading the word to all your good friends about the Hornsports community.

In parting I'm going to brag on this fact: Last weeks Crossfire had over 15,000 views. When is the last time you saw any article on any site reach those numbers?

We had 19,000 views on Wednesday. Those numbers are unheard of for a startup site our seize.

If Ketch or Clendon read this post, you should be be proud of what you two have built. We hope to be mentioned in the same sentence you with you all one day.

Until then, don't pay any attention to our 400 posters over here:)

Sorry but as a dual subscriber to OB and this site, I will be shutting down the OB subscription as soon as they let me. McPhaul knows what I'm talking about, but regardless, this site is awesome and big ain't always better. Quality content however is always better and maybe splitting time trying to become a radio personality can dilute that quality.

This is a nice site, not near the activity of OB but with higher quality posts. I hope it takes off

Ketch did not say we have 400 subscribers. He said OB has added 400 new members in the past few weeks.

Agree what is going on here is nothing short of amazing......The quality not quantity is so important, and we seem to have just that here and it comes in a package that is light years ahead of some of the others and outside opinions are welcome....

Seems the Oct. surprise this year was HornSports.com.

and obviously lost 1500 if McP #'s are correct and I am sure they are.

Quality over quantity.

I had a sub for 6 years at OB. I quit. (quality of reporting and constant pissing matches on the board are not up to snuff)

I had a sub at IT for 2 years and quit. I came back a year later just because of Jesus and Eric. (quality improved)

Had a sub for last 40 months on 247. Ending in 7 days. ( When Gerry left and Burton decided to become the mouthpiece for Belmont, total lack of quality set in)

Losing numbers is not what is going to make a dent. Losing the old time quality posters that had a big hand building that community is what is going to sting a little bit.

Let's not kid ourselves, Ketch & Orangebloods are doing very well in the revenue stream. Again, they are to be commended for building that machine.

yay

who said what, who didn't say what and who don't know what....BUT this is a dang good site!!!!!

I missed what Ketch said and I dont want to start a site war. Ketch banned me today for daring to question their product and mentioning Chip Brown's thread was mostly old news reported elsewhere weeks ago...which it was. The info there is so behind other sites its really hard to discuss anything over there without drawing reference to something posted elsewhere because many of the posters there seem to only live in an OB world and dont see to know what is out the outside

Ketch banning me today prob did me a favor as I dont have to make the decision about canceling a very long time membership over there of at least a decade.

I think Ketch's arrogance will cost him at some point. He doesnt seem to care so many great (and long time) posters have left for various reasons. Most of his best insiders are gone

This site already has MUCH higher quality posting and quality of active members. Of course OB is much bigger in size, and that seems to be all Ketch cares about. He can sit back and collect the subscription fees, yet they put out minimal content these days

They might have gained 400 new subscribers, but lost a lot of quality ones in the process!

1 - Id like to see where this was at and what exactly he said

2 - Nice to be noticed....?

3 - Dell Computers started out of a dorm room.

4 - One time the Roman Empire damn near ruled the world. Was brought down by a bunch of "Minor" parties.

Good luck going forward McPhaul and gang. As a three-four year lurker on OB, I appreciate all information that's provided to those of us on the outside looking in. Hope for the best for you all.

Totally agree, OB is slowing turning into a cesspool of newbie posters that is making a truck load of money........for now.

.

I have been on the boards since they started. I mostly lurk but I have kept paying for recruiting info. That said it seems that board has slipped a bit in recruiting news and has much more opinion pieces. Maybe due to recruiting taking a back seat to all the change in the air. I'm going to let it ride through signing day see if it improves in my eyes before I cancel.
