Does that mean Jeff turned the offer down, or that Higs thinks he'll turn it down?Higs confirmed Traylor was his boulder

Vance had a few interviews last year. I think he was close to being a finalist at Colorado State if I'm not mistaken. This year, not so much.Gosh. No one has as interest in viewing Bedford !!! What a shock .
Here are the rankings for the defenses Bedford has coordinated the last 6 years. Which one looks like the outlier to you?Gosh. No one has as interest in viewing Bedford !!! What a shock .
With all due respect… and not trying to flame, but do you really know that Jeff Traylor thinks he's not ready to coach a college offense… or is that what you believe?Jeff is a smart guy, he knows he's not quite ready for the jump to college OC yet.
What's the explanation for this? Here are the rankings for the defenses Bedford has coordinated the last 6 years. Which one looks like the outlier to you?
2010: 15th
2011: 24th
2012: 26th
2013: 1st
2014: 25th
2015: 106th

Its my belief that Jeff isn't quite ready for the jump. Although he did a great job this past year both on the trail and with his coaching, he still has A LOT to learn, but he's apparently picking things up extremely quickly. Can he be a college OC, of course and I think he'll be a damned good one and eventually a damn good head coach. Still, he has to go through the learning process first or he could easily be overwhelmed. With all due respect… and not trying to flame, but do you really know that Jeff Traylor thinks he's not ready to coach a college offense… or is that what you believe?
I have not read that anywhere. I personally don't know what Jeff Traylor thinks or believes.
But, I do know that Jeff Traylor sure seems like he's been an invaluable asset to Charlie Strong and Texas… and a real confidante.
Reading about the "toxic" environment in the Offense meetings last season… and the lack of respect he was shown when he came in by the offensive coordinator, has to not sit well with him. Especially if he does believe he has the ability to be a college OC.
Then, if he's getting in the mid 100Ks, or even mid 200Ks… and he's flying with the HC, AD… and University President to land the guys everyone perceives as being potential saviors of the program, or at the least CS's career. One's becoming OC getting $850K and the other guy's becoming OL/RunningGame Coordinator getting $550K… and you're getting at the most $250K… and you're the TE coach. I can also imagine that not sitting too well.
Maybe the only way he can get respect, if not through promotion, but at least through more $, is to test the waters… and get UT's attention.
He sure seems like a team player, but charity starts at home, IMO.
Some are saying that Mizzou already offered. Whether they did or not, I hope we give Traylor a fair and competitive raise. He's been invaluable to this point.Boulder is a No Go for Traylor! Now we need Mizzou to scram

You already know about the 37 freshmen we were forced to play on D this past season, so here's a hint as to what else may have caused the statistical crash:What's the explanation for this?
To be clear, I don't blame Bedford for all of it (although all the coaches deserve some of the blame). At times Bedford looked pissed and confused, as if he wasn't sure what/why that was happening. I know some think that's his RCF (Resting Coach Face), but he really looked lost out there at times.
Of course you leave a defense on the field for the majority of most games, and it won't end well for them.
Obviously youth... we had a lot of young guys that were aggressive but out of position.
Tougher schedule.
However even with all of that it's hard to explain the jump from this year to last because the offense wasn't that much better last year. Did they just bite the bullet with young guys to get them experience?
Just curious if anyone had seen anything that explained what happened this year with the defense. Even as bad as we have been I was surprised the defense played so poorly.
We'll be fortunate if Malik doesn't leave his JR year. You already know about the 37 freshmen we were forced to play on D this past season, so here's a hint as to what else may have caused the statistical crash:
Name the 2014 Texas D guys who went to the NFL.
Now, name the 2015 Texas D guys who will probably be in the NFL.
My mistake... I said "guys" above - I meant "seniors" -We'll be fortunate if Malik doesn't leave his JR year.
I love your saying "I personally don't know what Jeff Traylor thinks or believes" and, without missing a beat you proceed to say "the lack of respect he was shown when he came in by the offensive coordinator, has to not sit well with him. Especially if he does believe he has the ability to be a college OC."With all due respect… and not trying to flame, but do you really know that Jeff Traylor thinks he's not ready to coach a college offense… or is that what you believe?

I hope he gets a very nice bump.
No member of Charlie Strong's 2015 staff is worth a raise, let alone a doubling of their salary after the abortion we saw this past season. If any assistant coach ten months out of coaching 3A high school football wants to play prima donna and demand he be paid in the top 5% of all D1 assistant coaches "or else" then he needs to go.Spot-on RD. But hey, if Traylor thinks Mizzou is the fast train, then jump on that baby. It took Gus Malzahn, someone I'd definitely consider with more offensive savvy than Traylor, several college seasons (Arkansas 1 year, Tulsa 2 years) before he was ready for Auburn's OC job. IF he takes this gig, the SEC is a FAR different animal than 3A Texas high school football. Bullard is not on the Mizzou schedule last I checked. I'd like to see him stay and learn from the new OC, someone who has paid his dues. But if he goes, he goes.
