Its time to fire Strong

When Strong was first hired we all said we should see a improvement by year 3 at the latest by year 4.

So if for some bizarre reason we are just as bad next year, then wake me up in year 5 or 6.

Charlie finally has a great OC and a freshmen defense that will be sophs next year with a year of experience.

I tend to think we will be 8-4 next year.  Hopefully.

Make no mistake I blame that shithead Watson for everything including the 2009 market crash.

That means Strong is responsible for not only hiring him but also keeping him after 2014.

Fine he made a mistake and now he has fixed it.

Better things to come.

I'll gladly wager he's here through 2017, minimum. He has a five year guaranteed contract and they will owe him 10 million to leave after next season.... add on top of that the guaranteed contracts that are about to get inked and a buyout for the next coach.

As I've said, he won't leave on his own.

If you think 10 million dollars is going to be the reason BMD's are going to say "ok fine, I hate strong but yeah 10 million is too much lets keep him" then you have not been paying attention lately.

Red would pull that out of his bed pan in 30 secs.

Whatever play took place last night, trumped somebody's hand. Don't kid yourself into thinking otherwise.
I doubt we see a five win seson and 6 with a bowl bid will be enough. I think they'll do better than that.

My entire point was disagreeing with the 10 million buyout reason for retaining Strong.

The admin stepping in yesterday was damage control and to what appears to be an assassination attempt on Charlie by BMD influence.

With all the talk from numerous posters, including SHA, it was or is standing room only in the fire Charlie camp.  IF all this true then I highly doubt 10 million is going to save Strong another 2 years.  Hell SHA even posted (I believe) the 15 million was already gathered during the Miami talk.

What Fenves and Perrin did yesterday was the right thing to do and partly damage control by the public bashing.  They finally showed him support and got him the guy that Charlie needs to rebuild but if you think the snakes are gone for the next 2 years then you are more than likely wrong.

I'm not as worried about the snakes as I was yesterday afternoon. It's not safe to assume anything at this point. I'll wager 6 wins and a bowl bid, he returns for 2017. That's a minimum that is plausible.
The cloak room has the AD's ear.

Also, the deal was in place long before the Jet left Georgetown yesterday.

I'm also under the impression that the individual that screwed this up was likely influenced. I'm not naming anyone, it's not difficult to figure out.

This deal wasn't nearly as dramatic as the media played it out to be.

Okay, for those who can't figure out who it was, go ahead and tell us.

After reading some other sites this morning, it sounds like Arthur Johnson was who screwed this up.

Thanks for the reply. I am wondering what poor old Arthur actually did wrong?

The thing he did wrong is he's not high enough up the ladder.  ;)

Other than that, I have no clue. IMHO, the damage is done and someone will have to take it for the team because they will not expose the real people because they will want their money latter. Whether Texas can recover is a different story. I truly hope the higher ups have a meeting to discuss this and do their best to prevent it from happening again. That was truly an embarrassing chain of events that occurred.

The difference between a low budget whore and a high class call girl is the price they charge, the work is the same.
