Just wanted to introduce myself to the board and let everyone know I'm a big Texas Fan...both of the state and the Longhorns.

I should warn y'all I'm from Massachusetts, but I f##king hate it here and one day I hope to come down and raise a family in Texas.

I just hope everyone here on this board doesn't mind much that I'm from Mass.

So my questions is, can you be an accepted longhorns fan even though you don't live in Texas or go to school there?

Welcome to the boards! Massachusetts is not a bad place to visit, I head up there at least once a year. Good food, historical stuff to see, etc. Hate the pro sports teams there and the people (for the most part) aren't nearly as friendly as they are here in the Lone Star State. Nobody minds that you are from Mass - what matters is that you like the 'Horns!

The Longhorn fan base spans far and wide so yes you can be an accepted Longhorn even though you don't live in Texas, etc.

Welcome again and HOOK 'EM!

Appreciate the support from my fellow Longhorns' Fans! Hook em'!!!!

btw, I don't like most people from my state either. They are rude, and do everything too fast.So the last few years I been holding doors open, saying yes ma'am and no ma'am and sir and just trying to take my time with everything I do just to show them they don't have to be Massholes.

CLASSIC. I was in Brookline at a pub years ago and I was watching the College World Series (I remember Rice won it but I cannot tell you what year) and I struck up a conversation with some guy and trying to get him to reciprocate was like pulling teeth. Keep representing Texas in Mass, my friend!

You originally from Mass?

I get ripped over at Quincy Market every time I go to Beantown. My buddy went to UMASS and I made the trip up to Amherst several times in the late 90's. Fun place. Welcome.

I'm a new poster like you but I ain't no Yankee. Straight outta Forney, TX. My advice to you would be to get the hell to (or back to) Texas as fast as possible.

bbdude I was born out in Wash St.,but grew up in Mass. I mean it's not a bad place, just not filled with nice people and the food is all copied besides the sea food dishes. I hate how people up here think BBQ is some hot dogs and burgers. That's called Grilling! haha

Hammertime haha thank you for the advice , like I said, I want to move to Texas as soon as I save up and never look back.Want my son to grow up a Native Texan and learn how to live the right way ..Until then I will be wearing my burnt orange with pride! GO HORNS!

Cost of living is lower here so you might get here sooner than you think! Thanks for joining the boards. We are a growing community and it is great to have good folks with great opinions on here!
