At his weekly press conference, Tom Herman updated the media on the status of several players that suffered injuries through the first two games of the season.
Keaontay Ingram - RB
Running back Keaontay Ingram injured his knee on Saturday evening against Tulsa. After an MRI, Ingram was shown NOT to have a torn MCL, but rather a strained MCL and a deep bone bruise. He is doubtful for the USC game.
Brandon Jones - Safety
Jones has been nursing a high ankle sprain that he picked up in the Maryland game. Herman says he will practice a little bit starting Tuesday.
Davante Davis - DB
Davis had a neck sprain (suffered in the loss to Maryland) but “should be back,” for USC according to Herman.
DeMarvion Overshown
Will be out a couple of more weeks with the knee injury suffered in preseason scrimmage.
Ayodele Adeoye - LB
Good news on Adeoye, as he will begin practicing on Tuesday. Adeoye also sustained a knee injury, like Overshown, in mid-August and has been on the road to recovery.
Kris Boyd - DB
Boyd played against Tulsa but woke up the next day with some neck pain and did not practice on Sunday, according to Herman. Boyd should resume practice on Tuesday. I assume he will play against USC on Saturday.
John Burt - WR
Burt is still out and will not play against USC.
Zach Shackleford - Center
Will remain out a couple of more weeks with his foot injury and is expected to start wearing a boot on Wednesday of this week.
Patrick Hudson - OG
After being rushed to the hospital last week with a heat-related illness and full body cramp, Patrick Hudson appears to be doing better. He is no longer taking an IV and his levels are improving day-by-day.
