How sure are we that Saban is coming?

If you go to the Alabama message boards they seem to think there is just NO chance he would ever leave considering the mess going on with Mack.

If Saban does come here. I will have so much fun reading their threads. They all seem to think Mack is being mistreated.

Not sure of anything other than we will likely have a better coach in 2014 than we do now

Alabama fans are supposed to say that. He is the greatest college football coach on the planet right now. They don't want to believe their program is vulnerable. After the Auburn loss, losing their coach might just set Tuscaloosa on fire. These are fans who shoot each other if they don't mourn one loss like other fans. The best thing we can do is to keep our mouths shut and allow them to make themselves look like the backwoods inbreds that they are.

I have a good friend who's a die hard Bama fan who is adamant that retirement is the only way Nick Saban ever leaves Alabama. IF, by some miracle, Saban did decide to leave he'd never go to a school like Texas; we're too arrogant, couldn't deal with the BMD's or the LHN, could get just as much money from Bama, etc... Like most Bama fans, he's a Finebaum devotee, if Paul farts and it sounds anything like "Saban never going to Texas" I get a call/text. He's a typical Bama fan. They can talk about Texas arrogance all they want but they're just as bad if not worse. They can give you a litany of reasons for why they are the pinnacle of college football programs and why no one would/should ever leave; they've had Bear, one of the coaching greats, they have more championships (real or self-bestowed) than any other program, they've had an insane amount of success over the last 7 years or so... Their world is Alabama football and nothing exists outside of that world...including the possibility that there might be another program/another job that's just as prestigious and that their coach might want that job/challenge. They're like goldfish, they have short memories...the DeBose and Shula years are ancient history and the fact that they have had a coach (anyone remember Coach Fran?) leave them in the middle of the night to take the job at a program that's light years away from Bama in prestige, history, talent, etc... You can try to use logic/reason with them but they're like little kids who don't want to hear that they can't buy a Ring Pop at checkout...they cover their ears, stomp and scream. They'll never admit, to themselves or anyone else, that Saban might be interested and that he might actually leave.

If you want to shut them up I've found that the best way, tried and tested on my Bama buddy, is to explain to them that we've already made and offer and then ask them why, if Bama will "back up the truck" to match any offer that Texas makes, Saban hasn't already signed.

Serious question. Why do you think this guy has any credibility? A few days ago he had less followers on twitter than I do. Any one of us could start tweeting this crap and get attention.
