Herman's staff?

I know "titles" are not official yet, but here is how it seems to be shaping up:

Herman - Head Coach

Offensive Coordinator - ????

WR / Passing Coordinator - Mehringer

OL - Warehime

TE - Meekins

RB - ????

Defensive Coordinator - Orlando

DL - Giles

CB / Special Teams - Washington

Safeties - ????

LB - ????

How is my accuracy?

Speculation / Pipe dream is Brewster as RB Coach....  Strong probability for Naivar as Safeties.... Haven't heard any rumors about LBs or OC, what is the speculation here?

I doubt Brewster would make a lateral move, my gut feeling is that the only way he comes here is if he's going to be the OC. I like the Drayton guy from the Bears for the RB coach. Orlando would also coach the LB's like hes done at UH

when ever there is a coaching change, the assistants start lining up when one of them is selected to succeed the outgoing coach. They all have eyes to their own careers and will go with whichever guy they see as the "rising star"...Applewhite or Herman. I would expect every one of them that is invited will follow Herman unless Applewhite offers a Coordinator job to a position coach type.

Traylor could recruit, no doubt about that, but I never saw an ounce of evidence that he could coach a lick. Maybe he didnt and all he did was work recruits all season.

Wasn't the NCAA going to vote on approving a 10th assistant this year? If so, that would open up room for Joey or Brewester. I'm not 100% on my info, but I thought that it was the case this year. Not saying that either of those 2 would come, but the spot would be available.

I agree. I am hearing that Drayton is coming, and Drayton would not come if he wasn't calling plays.

Brewster would need a jump in pecking order for him to come here. I think that ship has sailed. He's pretty happy with his gig at FSU.

PLEASE.......let Traylor land somewhere else! He was atrocious as a position coach. Like another poster said.....there are many coaches who could win at Gilmer. He was in over his head at this level....

Don't know about his coaching ability. But Herman needs to go get McGuire. He can coach, RB's, WR's, TE's or even DB's. How exactly he was tagged an offensive guy is beyond me. He was a motivator and invlived in every aspect of CH's game plan. He has had many coaches leave him to be HC's around the state. He has been at Cedar Hill for 15 years. This guy will be a huge asset for any college in Texas recruiting. He is WELL respected by other coaches. Just watch this

We can do worse than hiring Joey McGuire as our RB coach. I gotta believe he'd be a tremendous asset recruiting-wise, too, especially in DFW.

NCAA votes to add the 10th on field assistant early next year. January of February I believe.
