Michelle and I were asked to assist a D-Day veteran earlier this year.  His best friend and squad leader was killed shortly after D-Day.  Burton "Elmo" Burfiend, who's remains were returned to Texas.

But his gravestone was in error and after years of fighting with the VA to get it fixed, he turned to an organization called HALO Freedom Warriors who after hitting road block after road block, finally called us more in desperation than any real "skill set" we had.

My wife actually did the work and in 72 hours we had it fixed which promoted my friend from the Texas General Land office to ask "how the hell did you do that, we were told it would take an act of Congress (and he meant this literally)"

Unbeknownst to us, House Rep Scott Turner from Frisco wrote up a resolution in our honor to be read into the Texas House record.

Here it is, was a fun day.   But given it's Memorial Day. . .very appropriate. . .

Chuck, as long as I've known you, you have worked tirelessly to help active duty folks and vets in numerous ways. You're a good man, Charley Brown.
