*****Game Thread: Texas vs. Texas Tech*****

Rewatching game. Yep. You heard it right.

They didn’t call Tech early for Holding!

I feel bad for anyone who could not enjoy one of the greatest comebacks in UT history. I thought the cops were going to come because I was yelling when we recovered the onside kick, scored each time, and then won the game.

Fans will be fans.  Why do some feel the need to instruct others how to watch and react to football games?

You are optimistic, that’s great. I hope you’re right.  But it’s not necessarily inappropriate to recognize some glaring flaws that seem to be all too familiar throughout Herman’s time here:

Poor OL play.
Bad defense.
Atrocious special teams.

I’m a Texas fan.  I want them to win really bad. But not many conference champs have the three bullet points above.

I agree with you about the defense.  If Ash lives up to Urban Meyer’s assessment, we should see drastic improvement.  But OL and special teams.... hoping for something different at this point places you in the Einstein definition of insanity.

Joshua Moore has amazing body control in the air, great hands, a very accurate feeling for space and angles. There’s a good reason he catches so many balls.

I haven’t seen one offensive line play, to date, with expected cohesion. I think that no Spring practice, the stop and go nature of the season, is responsible.

Someone has made Texas as safe a place to play as possible and brought unity to this team. Whether you like Herman or not, he is at least partially responsible.

I am going to enjoy this season that many thought we wouldn’t have. It is a gift, and I am going to enjoy it.

Hook ‘em!

Random observation:

Why is Texas so dreadfully afraid of being beat deep on a pass play?   Since Robinson left 8 years ago.... it's like we surrender a properly executed pass under 10 yards.

If it comes down to it, give up the occasional deep ball and allow those bigs who line up with a hand on the ground the possibility of an occasional 3 and out!

I agree with this.

Sorry, but I did instruct others on how to watch and react to the game. I said I felt bad for anyone who couldn't enjoy one of the greatest comebacks in UT history. I was as pissed off as you until we recovered that onside kick. Then for the rest of the evening the endorphins kicked in and I was on a longhorn high. If you did not get any pleasure from the win then I support your misery. :)

I agree with your concerns about the team and we may have to make changes after the season, however right now we are undefeated.

Let me sum it up this way...we won, Oklahoma lost.

SHA, I got to see a little of J Waddle. He looks good. He’s not looking better than Moore though. I wouldn’t mind having both.

I do think Eagles has matured. He may very well come into his own this year.

It was a win. Someone on Texas staff hunted long and hard to find that grave yard rabbit.

If Sam was as accurate durning  parts of the game as at the end, Texas would won big and easy. Then few QBS are.

For Texas to win out there are a lot of improvements to be made on 90% of the team. Hopeing the coaches step up and make them. Or hunt more rabbits feet.
