*****GAME THREAD - BIG 12 CHAMPIONSHIP: TEXAS vs. OKLAHOMA*****

Another miss by the refs that went in favor of ou

There were several calls the refs missed that were in ou's favor, several. But hey, at least the Big XII got a team in the hunt for the playoffs, right?

You know, the Sooners are just now getting back to Norman and the excitement is wore off now because reality set in and they realized "Aw shit, we're back in Oklahoma"

We can leave whenever we want
I’m ready yesterday.  Beyond the officiating that is down right abismal, the league office is embarrassing.  If the ridiculous commercials weren’t bad enough - touting “the most challenging road to the championship,”  the horns down / horns up pre-championship game announcements were the icing on the cake.

Please, Texas or OU bolt and start the explosion!

Ridiculous to have to play a conference team a second time just for $$$ and politics in a champ game. I would have been fine with giving ou the champ due to their conf record. Just my opinion.

SHA the powers that be will make sure Texas or OU don’t leave.

i would be beyond happy if we left today however I do not see that happening.

we will benefit from staying for the next few years however I still think it’s worth it to leave.

the conference is about to go to shit in regards to competition. And we will win the conference but I would rather not be king of the inferior.

The game is over and the better coached team wonIMO. Texas has a long way to go to be elite again. Offense coachinneeds an upgrade. OL needs more bodies and talent. QB needs improving. DL and LBS need more talentSpecial teams need upgrade. Coaching staff and players need to scorch the earth on offense and shut down as much as posible oppoents offense. Maybe electricing offense,s face masks in practice might be a start.

I tend to agree, but it's not just about the money.

They brought it back after TCU got snubbed for the playoffs. An interesting what-if is whether or not ou would've made the playoffs had it not been for the game yesterday. Had that not happened it might have been osu.

While I don't like things that favor ou, Texas could be in the same position one day. Any time the committee has to decide on a tie-breaker of one-loss teams then the most recent impression tends to be the deciding factor.

So even though the B12 CPG tends to set up ridiculous repeat games, the current system for the playoffs almost mandates we have one. Of course that can shoot a team in the foot someday, and this normally wouldn't apply to undefeated teams.  However any B12 team on the cusp of the playoffs will always want one more game to prove themselves.

The playoff snub is the politics that I was talking about.
