After losing their opening Big 12 game against the Texas Tech Red Raiders, the Texas Longhorns (4-2, 2-1) have won two straight and look to continue that streak as they host the Iowa State Cyclones (3-3, 0-3) at DKR on Saturday. The Longhorns handed Oklahoma a 49-0 beatdown in Fair Park last weekend, while the Cyclones lost a close one to Kansas State to the tune of 10-9 in Ames.
For the Cyclones, defense reigns. Texas will have its hands full with a stout defense that leads the Big 12 in rushing defense, passing defense, total defense and scoring defense.
The Longhorns boast the 36th best offense in the country right now and are firing on all cylinders behind quarterback Quinn Ewers and star running back Bijan Robinson.
Saturday's matchup marks the 20th meeting between these two programs and the 11th time they have met on the field in Austin. The Cyclones own a three game win-streak against the Longhorns and defeated Texas last season 30-7 in Ames.
Kickoff comes early for the second consecutive week at 11:00 AM with the game being televised on ABC.
