*****GAME THREAD – No.2 Texas vs. No. 5 Georgia*****

He won't ever rank in the elites to me unless he crushes it these playoffs (hope he does!) but because Texas hasn't had that many elite QBs, Ewers probably ranks at #5 given the team's accomplishments. He can move up but right now he's #5. He's a decent QB but generally is hurt, sloppy and just not a reliable QB. His potential is still off the charts but will he ever reach his potential? He looked sharper today most of the time.

1. VY
2. Colt
3. Street
4. Layne
5. Ewers

Of the 2000 and later QBs, I personally think Ehlinger would win more games than Ewers if he replaced him on this team in this era but that didn't happen. I also think Manning will be top 5 before he leaves and knock Ewers down to 6.
One of most concerning is Sark sees this but refuses to change. Is it his stubborness that he is right or is loyalty to player over team?

Point is he played plenty good enough to beat Georgia. He did his part. Special teams will continue to get the horns beat. I’d worry about that more than QE
Except he couldn't get in end zone. Georgia stopped when mattered over 260 yards in first half and all we got was 6 points

Yesterday was peak Ewers. I think we all want to see him elevate another step but he played well enough most of the game for us to win. He was scrambling out of the pocket when he could, he threw some amazing balls but he also had two INTs (and almost another) as well as a good many bad throws or not seeing the field well. He did fall off a bit in the second half but that was more Sark than Quinn in my eyes.

This is who Quinn Ewers is y'all. An immobile gunslinger game manager who will wow you at times, confuse you at times and will cost you at times. If you showed me his future stat line, I would've said we won a close game.

If his WRs helped him, he would've had an above average game. If his O-Line blocked way better, he would've done well. If his TEs blocked better, we would've had bigger plays. I think the RBs blocked well largely because we kept Wisner out there. There were drops by every WR. Quinn made a lot of mistakes too but he won't ever be perfect. Sark made many bad play calls too with his stubbornness thinking he could play this game like the A&M game in the second half. Sark got outcoached thinking his running game could win the game in the second half.

Agree with 100% about Sark's stubbornness.

Certainly would have liked Texas to throw the ball more in the second half. Thought the offense was best going up tempo empty backfield.

So many issues with our game last night its easy to get tunnel visioned into just one thing. In the end we deserved to lose. We should have scored at least 2 TDs in the first half.

I am curious why our OL has false starts. Specifically Cam I mean why is this so difficult to not move? I dont think I have ever seen a tackle get called for more false starts than him.

Trying to keep up with Majors?

The final drive of this game was eerily similar to the last drive against Washington last year. The same dynamics of poor play selection and poor execution.
I thought the same thing.

Difference was, in the Washington game we had very little time and no timeouts, we had no choice but to take shots at the end zone.

Against Georgia, we had plenty of time and timeouts to use. I would have liked to see an earlier attempt at getting a player the ball in space for at least a short gain vs two fade balls to the end zone.

Do we think the fades were Quinn or Sark? Just seemed desperate and low probability plays when there was time…

That's a good question and one that is always out there. We complain about play calling, too many short throws, too many deep throws, but what we don't know is what the play call is and how much Sark is encouraging Quinn to throw to a certain route.

Or whether or not Quinn checked off
