Fall Camp

As I understand it, yes, there is. Heavy taping can help, too.  Also read that once a player has had this injury, he is more seceptible to it recurring.
I thought they were calling it a foot sprain.

I thought they were calling it a foot sprain.
I read that too, on another site.  BON said foot sprain, then went on to talk about high ankle sprains, so maybe that's where I got that. Concentration comes hard at my age. Lol

Foot or ankle, neither is good.

Misery Index: Trouble in Texas as Tom Herman begins second season with another flop

FIVE MOST MISERABLE

Texas: Maybe we’ve had it wrong the whole time. For all of its supposed advantages and program wealth, perhaps Texas is harder to pull out of mediocrity than anyone realized. The last time the Longhorns were really good, this year’s crop of high school seniors were in third grade. Since then, they’ve only finished a season ranked in the top 25 one time. It takes an incredible coach, a force of nature, to overcome the cumulative effect of that much dysfunction. That’s what Texas thought it was getting in Herman. But now, it’s fair to wonder if his reputation was elevated by a stacked, ready-to-win roster in his two-year stint at Houston and not the other way around.

The 247Sports True Freshman Preseason All-American Team for 2019

FLEX – Jordan Whittington, Texas (No. 34, No. 2 ATH)

Texas returns talented sophomore Keontay Ingram at running back but Whittington has been too good in the preseason not to cut into that workload. He also possesses some pass-catching versatility that could open up a lot of options for Tom Herman’s offense to get more creative. He's a surer thing than any of the tight end options and deserves a spot on our team, hence the creation of the 'flex' position and the removal of the tight end designation.

2019 College Football Crystal Ball: Playoff Picks, Darkhorse Predictions and More

Which Power 5 Team Will Be the Biggest Disappointment?

Meyer: After defeating Georgia in the Sugar Bowl, Texas has been the talk of the town this offseason. But this was a team that was worse than its record indicated in 2018. The Longhorns only managed one-score wins against Tulsa, Kansas, Texas Tech and Kansas State, and none of those teams went bowling. Texas also was outgained in terms of yards per play—the offense averaged 5.5 YPP while the defense allowed 5.6 YPP. Add in the fact that the Longhorns have to replace eight defensive starters, and I don’t see a team that’s equipped to live up to the preseason hype.

Who Will Be the Fall's Biggest Breakout Player?

Shapiro: Texas’s history is littered with impact running backs, and sophomore Keaontay Ingram may be next in line to emerge on the national scene. The nation’s No. 6 running back recruit in 2017 led the Longhorns with five yards per carry last season and hauled in 27 receptions, the fifth-most on the team. Ingram added 15 pounds in the offseason, and he appears to be the feature back after splitting time with Cal grad transfer Tre Watson in 2018. The Longhorns project to be one of the nation’s most potent rushing attacks this season led by quarterback Sam Ehlinger. His backfield mate may also snag first-team All-Big 12 honors
