Anyone have any experience with these things? I am considering buying one to see how well they cook meat. I use a Weber gas grill for most of my grilling but a buddy told me to give the electric smoker a shot. Any thoughts?

Get a MasterBuilt smoker..They cost a little bit more(about $199) but they have features the $99 don't have .

They are insulated and have a thermostat. It comes with a menu book and complete direction. It is easy to load and all the racks are stainless steel and come out for cleaning. They are big enough for several racks of ribs, chickens and other stuff or just one item for just the family.

I had one and gave it to my son when all the kiddos left. He uses the thing all the time and it is just worth the investment. You can also get one larger for about $300 if you want to smoke for an army..Once again they are worth the extra investment..

Hope it helps..You can see videos on You Tube just type MasterBuilt smokers..and good luck..

My brother-in-law bought one at Bass Pro Shops for around $200. It has the Bass Pro Shops label so I am not sure if it was made my them or someone else but he likes it. Nice little slot on the side to put woodchips and such. It almost looks like a mini-fridge.

Just go with the Big Green Egg. By far the best smoker I have ever owned. Not cheap but you get what you pay for.

Looked at the Big Green Eggs and they are sweet! Too much for what I want to spend though. Academy has one for 149 and I am going to pick it up this weekend. Thanks for the help fellas.

I've got a Charbroil gas grill that is getting some age on it. Been thinking about getting one of the infrared grills. Anybody know anything about them?
