Texas not hosting, and that should surprise no one.

As of right now, Texas' only chance of remaining in-state for a regional is by going to Rice.

Rumors right now of Texas as the #2 in Rice regional, with SHSU being the #3.  Like the matchup, but don't know if the committee will do that.  That's a horrible draw for Rice.

Only two host sites west of Fort Worth.  That's a bit of a shocker.

I'll take a Rice Regional for the Horns and our chances against the Owls.  We need to score some runs against whoever we play.

Very true, although a first game matchup against SHSU would be no easy task.  41-17; RPI 37; ISR 33.

Here's a map I put together.

If we end up with Rice and SHSU that would be nice. SHSU would not be an easy 3 matchup, but certainly winnable. Rice is also a nice matchup for a 1.

I just hope we aren't sent out to Louisville (even though I think we can beat Louisville).

If we are a one seed makes no sense that we would not host with our facilities.

Word trickling out that aggy may be #3 in the Rice region.  If Texas goes as #2, that could be interesting.

I think you misunderstood my post.  I meant we'd be the #2 playing Cal Poly, who is the #1.

No surprises on the list of 16, IMO. I'll take a cut at the Top 8 seeds (in no particular order):

- UF

- UVA

- Oregon State

- TCU

- IU

- ULaLa

- FSU

- Ole Miss

Considering that 9 teams from West of the Mississippi have won it all since 2000, I agree. The SEC and ACC play very good ball, but it takes an unusually good team from the SE US to win it all.

Kendall Rogers posted this on Facebook an hour ago:

"Have a feeling a few, as in 100, Facebook friends will be intrigued by a regional matchup later this morning ...."

I'm guessing it has something to do with the rumor Joeywa alluded to about A&M being the 3 seed in the Rice regional.
