Cowboys got robbed

Looked like a good catch to me.
I just find it interesting that people are blaming the new rule. Even under the new rule it's a catch IMO.

I'm interested what the NFL considers a "football move".

I don't know, karma from last week?  No dog in that fight but I thought it was a catch.  Seems the NFL has now had 2 weeks with some bad PR based on officiating.

It was a catch. He caught it, possessed it, and then used the ball and arm to extend to try to score a touchdown. That is a football move all day long.

Since he possessed the ball and was actively using it, hitting the ground was a fumble that he quickly recovered himself and even then, the ball never hit the ground – so one could say it wasn't a fumble at all.

What was embarrassing for the NFL, IMO, were the announcers contradicting what the replay video was showing. That was insulting to any NFL fan's intelligence.

If that is ruled correctly, Dallas scores on the next play and takes the lead. I can't say they win, but it sure would have changed the game's situation drastically for both teams.

I've lost interest in the NFL in recent years. This is another reason why.

Yeah NFL officiating is pretty bad.

I'm amazed at the lack of holding calls nowadays. That's a big problem on the collegiate level too. I saw about 7 to 10 missed holding calls in that GB/Dallas game.

Officiating isn't bad..

It's some of the rules that are bad.

Officials are calling the games with the rules that are given to them.
Maybe so, but I think it's a catch even under the new rule. Do you think Dez made a football move?

Garland gets it. Pereira explained it clearly on the post game show. He didn't control it to the ground and thru the catch.

I think the rule sux for the record. Change the rule.

From what I got from the explanation was he did not think Dez stuck his arm out to try and score. So that makes it a judgement call that went against the Cowboys. They might still lose but now we will never know. I think the Boys got robbed.

Again, nobody is denying he didn't maintain control to the ground. He made a football move though, 2 or 3 steps to the endzone.

It happens all the time where a WR gets hit instantly and the refs don't rule a fumble because he didn't make a "football move". The "football move" criteria is what distinguishes a catch from a fumble. If anything under the rule that should have been ruled a catch and a fumble. I'm still not positive the ball even hit the ground, but he clearly lost control after making a football move.

Bomb...according to Perreira it wasn't a football move. He wasn't running he was falling to the ground. He hit the ground and the ball came loose.

That's the former head of nfl officiating opinion.

According to Pereira if Dez stretches out his arm then that is a football move, he didn't think that Dez stretched his arm out. I thought he did.
